«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. I don't jump on updates, not even major versions. When pondering to update I ask myself three questions:
1) Does it fix a bug / security hole that renders the software unusable?
2) Does it add a functionality I desperateley need / I've been longing for it for years?
3) How much valuable is the stuff that may be ruined by a failed update?

Please read the instructions at the top of this page. I would suggest you spend a little time actually working on the problem yourself and if that fails go to the correct forum: Msdn forums - Windows Desktop SDK[^]. You will need to provide a lot more information than given by you here.

If you're asking for a solution, look to the left of the window, and select a forum where there might be a solution for you.

Hats off to whoever wrote that method as"wtf" is about the only meaningful name in the whole class - "d()", "e()", "i()", "v()", "w()" - seriously???
Was Android written in the 1970's? Are they having some kind of disk space famine? Are all their keyboards broken? Have the code fairies gone on strike?
Seriously, how could anyone be expected to work with names like that? Does nobody bother to code review their efforts?
It's a miracle that Android is only as bad as it is.
Slogans aren't solutions.

Dune may finally get a good adaptation from Denis Villeneuve - The Verge[^]
I haven't really liked the Dune films I have seen. But this one sounds like it could be excellent.

I read the book - twice - and the old film did not do it justice. I hope this version is better!

The mini-series for Dune had it's moments, but was ultimately a let-down. However, they did a pretty good job with Children of Dune.

I quite liked it, but it was really different to the book - I have no idea where they got the ideas for the style of the film but it was certainly interesting.
It got me interested in the books too, so that's got to be a plus point for it too..
Ah, I see you have the machine that goes ping. This is my favorite. You see we lease it back from the company we sold it to and that way it comes under the monthly current budget and not the capital account.

I had read the complete series of books before I saw the film. The same with Lord of the Rings, but the film adaptation of that stuck much more closely to the original. Maybe someone can now do a better job of it.

To be fair to the film producers, it must be extremely difficult to compress a very complex book into 3 hours (or even a miniseries) while keeping the flavour of the original.
Yes, I do hope the next version improves on the past.

The hardest part of dealing with Dune is getting Mentats right. With the wrong touch, they will come across as being poor Spock clones.

About the only easy part of producing a Dune film is the portrayal of "Beast" Rabban; he is just a brute, albeit a useful brute. All other characters have their complexities.
Personally, I think that a good portrayal of Duke Leto would be very difficult. He is a tragic figure who successfully (and honourably) walks a fine line between his loyalties and his duties, but doing so inevitably leads him to disaster.

I partly agree, but ultimately think Paul is still the problem. In part because the book very clearly starts with a young Paul who appears to be younger than he is, yet movies/series start with him being much older, very likely so they can keep with the same actor (and avoid working with kids), which is a fatal mistake. (Muad'Dib makes no sense in any other context.)
Another point lost by some critics is that Paul really is the Kwisatz Haderach. It's not just Paul exploiting man made myth.
(I do think even Frank Herbert lost his own thread during and after God Emperor of Dune, turning the story increasingly into a procedural, if not aimless, soap opera and that his son's awful books continued that trend.)
