You get an account as an employer to manage your "employees" - we are talking about the nanny of my children here - and they send you a password and identifier by snail mail for your first connexion. And .... *drum roll*
The password does not match the password rules (no special char where one is required, password is too short, etc...) !!!!  
So it gets rejected when you try to connect. OK, let's recover another password using the "recover lost password" : They send you another password over email. Which has the correct length. But still no special char... So I gotta call them on Monday to get my access, which means I need to stay at home because I cannot call them from Germany where I work - it's a special phone number, not working abroad. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Who on Earth performs syntax checks on password at login time ? Who sends out passwords to users that do not match their own password rules ?! WTF ???

*cough* This is why you use ASP.NET MVC and lazy evaluation (jQuery Validate) or filters *cough* Or whatever you prefer, I've taken a liking to this as of late. Sounds like a terrible situation, best of luck!

Um ... When TalkTalk bought Tiscali, they inherited a lot of customers, and correctly imported their accounts, including passwords.
But ... the Tiscali passwords were not checked for length, special characters, or anything else, so one old(ish) lady I support had her connection and email password set to something she could remember: "pepsi" - the name of her late cat.
But TalkTalk does check passwords - so when she bought a new machine and tried to set it up, she couldn't enter her password to configure anything. (The old one was hashed and the hash stored, so it "just worked")
OK, no problem, we'll change the password. TalkTalk checks password security - particularly when it comes to changing them, and won't accept a five character password as the "existing password" so you can't change it either ...
Welcome to the nightmare of explaining why she can't log in, or change her password to tech support people working from a script.

Very easy to explain; the company that provided the key (point to real key) is incapable of buying keys that fit their own locks. Some good advice - don't store anything of value there.

I was lucky enough to see them live a couple of years ago - a fantastic show that I will never forget.
Ozzy was certainly an odd character, though. Two things in particular stood out about him - I'm don't think he knew how much of the show had transpired. He finished every song (even the first one) as if it was the last one, stating "Thank you - you've been a wonderful audience." and stuff like that. Also, whenever the music was playing, he was full of energy, jumping around, fist pumping, etc. When the music stopped, he returned to shuffling around the stage as if he couldn't lift his legs.
He could certainly still pump it out, though!

At first glance, after being informed that the pick-up driver was only 18, I thought "Great, just another idiot kid", but he was the white hat in the story.

Is payment of child support one of the criteria for driving safely, now? Is it on the driving test?
How does that make any sense at all?

No, it's a consequence for being a deadbeat. Further, he probably knew the DL suspension would occur before it did, so he chose it and the inconvenience. All he had to do is pay what he owes or make arrangements to do so and the DL suspension would have been lifted. But, no, he's a complete dick as this incident proves and so deserves everything that's coming to him. Now he's going to go to jail and will serve hard time. Meanwhile his childcare payments will still be owed and will accrue. Fat lot of good that does his children who will still likely continue to suffer due to his poor choices.

If you are using VS2017 RC, you may have noticed that the regular WiX cannot be installed for the most current version of VS2017 RC. However, assuming you already installed WiX for earlier version of VS, there is a manual procedure to extend WiX functionality to add its projects to VS2017 RC solutions, here:

But note the comment from Basim lower down in this post. I had to do what he suggests, before the WiX extension did work, but now it works 100%
If you're not familiar with WiX: It is a potent generator of application install files (*.msi). It is free.

Time to get familiar with Wix. I've been very interested in it ever since it launched, but just never had need for an installer. My few desktop apps have always just been xcopy install, and web apps FTP or WebDeploy. But now I'm busy on quite a large and very promising desktop app, maybe with accompanying Windows Service. So, time to install in 2017 and start learning.

Implicit conversions are always a pain. 
More importantly, why is it called objectRefGuid when it doesn't contain a Guid?

Guid = globally unique identifier. In our case it's globally unique where we define "global" as being in the scope of the application.
(It's kinda like the World Series  )
