The SINGLE most important feature:
You can RIGHT CLICK the windows icon in the lower left, and get something AKIN to a usable menu of options without beating someone to death out of sheer frustration.
I am proud to say I love windows 7 still. and with that one technique, I can get things done in Windows 10 in MERE MINUTES where windows 7 takes seconds. LOL

The best thing about Win10 is that it finally pursuaded me to start using Linux.

Yeah, I've got the same feelings about Win 10 in its default setup. There's too many negatives in it for me to use it as my main OS. I do have it on my laptop (since it's a recent purchase) but I've set it up as a dual boot system. Mint Linux for all my general computing needs and Windows 10 for games that aren't available under Linux.
You can get overall control of Windows 10 but it requires a fair amount of work and research (to find the registry tweaks). It requires much more tweaking than Mint Linux has for me.

I'm a bit agnostic when it comes to Windows X, granted it is a big leap forward from the version 8 flavor of Windows OS, but I loathe the update process and lack of simple straight forward control that was present in pre-8.x versions.
There are advances to be sure, but I'm wondering at what cost. I'm waiting for the creators update to be pushed and will hold further judgment till that takes place.
WHAT REALLY TROUBLES ME... is Apples iOS and how Microsoft like they have become with it. Seems like every time I use streaming media on my iPad Pro or iPhone 7 I have to reboot them to get them to function properly. This is most noted in email where you will not see the content of the message until you reboot. So I find that I'm doing that as many as 5 times a day. Getting old fast there Apple. MS-Windows only forces me to reboot when they slide in an update (but it sure would be nice to know in advance it was happening or prompting that I needed to reboot due to an update 'hint hint ms'!).
Wish both companies would grow up their OS's a bit more and produce something other than an infinite beta product which is what is see on both their parts!

I didn't "try" it. That implies a desire to use it. It was already on a machine (that belongs to someone else that I don't even know). Being the only computer person anybody seems to know within my sphere of influence, I was asked to resolve an issue on the box.

I've been clearing out the spare room - trying to make it into a bedroom instead of a storage place - and that means going through the boxes we moved in with, and haven't opened since. Some of it has been quite interesting: three watches I'd forgotten about (including my gold fob watch), two sets of cufflinks I haven't worn for twenty years, load of pictures of Herself as a young lady. Some of it has been hideous, as in "why did I keep an ancient sleeping bag that smells like something died in it?"
Then it turned up: my Student Union card from university. Oh gawd. Me, as an 18 YO zit factory in 1977 ... I look young, innocent, sober. And only the first two were true for any part of my stay at university ...
Worse: Herself has seen it and banned me from binning the thing. Damn. And no, I'm not posting it here for a very good reason: Warning - language probably not SFW[^]
