That's exactly what I wondered about too. It feels as if insiders can get the functionality but indie devs are out. Android is nicer because it is more open most of the time. But of course many will say more dangerous. Give me danger then!

Odd - I wanted to post a comment but it seems there's no way to do so. I'm logged in and can vote for the article but the Comments forum is (understandably) empty and there's no way to enter a new comment or ask a question. Anyway, I think the first occurence of this line is misplaced (i.e a typo), since you're referencing message even though it might be null.
