For reading pdf books, I use Play Books. With its horizontal scrolling through pages, night mode and option to add bookmarks, I find it's just right for it.
A downside is that it takes quite a while (minutes) to add a pdf to it. So for things like plane/train tickets, receipts etc, I prefer using the Google Drive pdf viewer. This works for local files, in case the name Google Drive sounds suspicious.

EBookDroid is the best one I've found as it's extremely fast even with image-heavy PDFs and you can configure it to hide as much of the UI as you like, up to all of it.
I can't tell you whether it does ASCII text but it does other formats such as ePub and RTF.
Xodo is also good if you want to open multiple PDFs in a tabbed interface, or annotate them.

Foxit mobile works well for me. A few other I tried didn't open some of the PDF's I had, but Foxit works good so far. I didn't compare much other than that.

I like RepliGo Reader. Main feature I like is it maintains your position in the PDF when reopening. I'm typically reading several documents at a time. When reading a novel I like to start where I left off.

Thank you to each and every one who has offered suggestions.
From reading here and one or two of the external sources, my initial choice was Xodo.
At this moment, I'm not totally okay with it, although it may work.
The three big things I want are...
- Text reformats and fits the screen when I zoom it
- Text reformats and fits the screen when I change the phone from vertical to horizontal
- Ability to scroll to the next page without special gestures (i.e., smoothly, like the PC can do)
Do any of the previously mentioned readers have the ability to do that, already built-in ?
Does Xodo have that ability ? So far, I haven't found the config thing to do that.

A replacement in the manner of hosting, so files wont be handed over to other company but kept close to you...
I found two: LinShare and NextCloud (the later seems better to me)...

No answer relative to your question. Looking at NextCloud, all I can say is that their website is a mess.

I've often wondered what it would take to make something usable from the FTP service most ISPs offer. Host the files SFTP, a server process runs on the server that indexes the files, and create the necessary Windows/Linux/Android/IOs processes to link to it and sync everything. I'm sure I've missed a lot, and it is probably a massive undertaking, but why does everything have to be in the cloud? Is there much demand for that type of approach, or does everyone insist that MS and others host their files? Or is it better to have bigger corps do it, because of the security that many smaller ISPs don't master?

FTP isn't good enough...
The idea behind those file sharing systems (the better ones) is to synchronize only what really changed... Most of those systems does not store files on file system but in DB, that enables partial synchronization... also there is access right (I shared my files only with you and not all users)... there is also a goo deal of notifications... there is also the subject of concurrent changes and how to resolve (DropBox for instance creates versions at let resolve it manually by the parties)...

ftp isn't but if you are looking to roll your own solution it would be worth taking a look at winscp[^]
it needs some configuration but appears to work reliably although I have only used it as a backup tool and have no experience with large numbers of files

I have been using Sync for the last year and a half. Very good and MUCH cheaper than DropBox however you do still "hand over your files"...

What features do you want? Are you looking for revision control, sharing across PCs and/or sites?
Assuming you want any of the above but don't want to host your files with a third party, considering installing Subversion (or any other revision control system). You can host it yourself and access can be available to whoever you want. Subversion is web-enabled so you can access it from anywhere.
If you're looking for a service that does it for you, I suspect you won't find one that hosts your files on your site.

Hey,I always wanted to create an Online Brand or Company to be honest, or I always wanted to have my own Website for doing online business to earn a living.
Now, I have seen people 2000+ usd per monthfrom online.
Now I need to make a minimum of 600 USD- 700 USD per month to pay my bills etc. And I will work more and invest a bit more if I get proper ROI ( Return Of Investment ) from the 1st investment. So, which line of online business should I go for?
And guys, can you just give me an approx estimate for making a site with the most ongoing trend, proper domain, multiple keywords, paid traffics, proper SEO and other expenses required for starting an online business?
I am really confused as what to do online for making a minimum of 800 USD per month.
And are there any professionals here in this forum that makes sites like these and helps them to grow and do business? Of course gonna pay him.
Note :
1) I dont have a website
2) I have no idea about niches.
3) I have no idea about SEO.
4) I dont have a good domain
5) I also have no idea about keywords etc.

First question before you start is: Do you have a viable business idea?
Everything else is secondary.

I would advise to use an E-commerce solution like Shopify Ecommerce Web Hosting[^]
Then you will be free to focus on your product instead of spending lots of time on the website technical details.
But that all depends on what product you have, for some special products you need a self-built website.

I always wanted to start an ecommerce site and thought to keep the profit margin the most minimal as possible to gain customers over time but as we all know that the ecommerce industry is being dominated by Amazon and Ebay and currently shopify is its competitor I think.
And yes I know it will take time for one business to grow. No one can climb a tree on one jump, it takes time and yes I am ready to give my everything on this business to grow. And jobs nowadays are scarce and limited, and there is no stable future and nor there is any security. One can only fulfill their basic needs from a job and not their desires. Thats what I think, but I could be wrong tho.
Hence I am looking for ideas on which business to start.
Now I have 2 things in my mind:
1) I was thinking to start to start dropshipping. I contact alidropship forum and they charge 299 USD for making a custom dropship store and then I have option to use shopify (30 USD or so for monthly subscription) to conduct dropshipping business. But I dont know how much would I have to invest at first on dropshipping and how much will I be making in the beginning.
2) This cloud hosting and web hosting business on servers, vps , etc , how much do I need to start these sort of thing and are these profitable and how much will I make approx at the beginning? I am happy if I could at least make around 300-350 USD at the beginning. Then I will invest more if I see proper ROI ( Return of Investment ).
3) Another thing that many people told me that I could make a site and get a stable and good earnings from ads and such? Heard that some people make more than 1K USD+ per month from ads and such? Is that possible? If yes then which type of site should I be looking forward to make?
Of course if it is allowed here in this forum, I will hire one of you professionals to make such a site for me. Of course will pay you.
Moreover, I am open and looking to make a site on the current trending thing as of now. Thats all. Hence I am looking for ideas. Then will hire a professional to make that site.

From someone that ran an online business about 7 years ago:
- Ask yourself if your idea has an audience. Secondly, ask if someone else already has that audience and does it better than you can do with what assets you have available.
- Don't expect to make money. Even if it does end up making money it's a slow ramp over time for most businesses.
- Make sure your idea brings people back for more. Customer retention is huge for long-term growth.
- The more you can do yourself the better off you'll be in the short/mid term. Good websites cost a pretty penny.
- Consider a cloud solution for hosting. You can slowly ramp up your platform over time which saves money and headaches dealing with server migrations.
- Always have a back-up plan.
In general though business is one of those things that isn't formulaic until you're already rolling along. It requires good ideas, good execution, and a fair bit of luck before then. Best of luck! 
Also as Rick pointed out above, there are multiple platforms that will basically do the "dirty" work for you leaving you to focus on the business metrics. I haven't used one personally though so no idea how cost effective they are.
