Not bad considering she sits HSC in a bit more than a month, bought an AUD$8K car earlier in the year, put new Mags and Tyres on it and now the laptop.
I put the Mags and Tyres and now the laptop on the interest free card, but she has paid them off in less than half the time required and saved cash for the car and it's comprehensive insurance.

I got a Lenovo of almost the same spec. I do like the bigger screen even if it is a bugger to lug around. It does not travel much on a day to day basis.

Microsoft have needed it for years.. Unfortunately, since Jobs Apple has also needed that person 
Personally, I'm really disappointed in many of the decisions Apple has made over the last few years. Ignoring battery issues on iPhones while doing useless things like removing the headphone jack, going for thinner and thinner instead of making their iPhones waterproof, making iOS less intuitive and with more bugs.. the last few years have been a disaster.
As someone who really used to enjoy using Apple products, there are very few I'd buy these days. That touch bar thingy on the MacBooks looked like a niche feature from day one.. I'd rather have function keys but there's no option for that on a 15" MacBook Pro, so I'm sticking with my 2015 model until it break or is no longer supported. Hopefully by then they'll have someone sensible back in control. 
Now is it bad enough that you let somebody else kick your butts without you trying to do it to each other? Now if we're all talking about the same man, and I think we are... it appears he's got a rather growing collection of our bikes.

I'm sorry, *BUT*, as far as I can understand referring to Report: Apple-developed ARM chip may appear in updated MacBook Pro this year | 9to5Mac[^], you've probably misunderstood something. Apple is about to deploy the newest MacBook Pro with an extra RISC-based ARM CPU that will be additionally used to perform simple background tasks consuming low-power, while the main Intel CPU such as Core i5 or Xeon E3 will be utilized for more complex tasks and graphics.

The sensationalist media reported, and I quote "For now, the new ARM chip would potentially be used for dedicated tasks like maintaining background app activity". Note the "For now" which is there way of saying "Clearly Apple will make a Macbook powered solely by ARM". Surely the weak denial by Apple[^] is further proof of their true nefarious intents.
Because seriously: how else is it possible their BootCamp drivers are so, so bad...
Never credit a lack of any solid business case when wild conspiracy theories will suffice instead.

But, again, as far as I know, RISC-based ARM chips cannot be used as an entire central CPU for such PCs as MacBook Pro. Those ARM chips the either are not compatible or very slow to boot and run the either Win10 or MacOS. The ARM chips have a slightly different reduced instruction set and are not good for running one of those OS, since it's not like a tablet-PC or a smartphone running Android or IOS. The different thing is that probably Apple is about to create their own improved ARM-based chip to use it as the central processor of their future MacBook Pro PCs. One of them according to the Bloomberg report will be deployed this year. We'll see it...

What's wrong with ARM? It's a RISC processor, which makes it a pleasure to program even if you have to do it in assembly. The x86 programming model goes back all the way to the 8080 and often enough makes you feel as if you were back in the 1970s. Thank god we now don't use the Real Mode for very much anymore. Segments, anyone?
The vast majority of users will never even notice the huge differences between those processors. not even most of the developers, who would be too busy fuzzing over rules, styles and conventions in some higher languages to notice that they have another processor.

I think calling it "Lenovo" as such could be a big generalization, but still you right for the 95%. And The good 5% , I'd say they are trying hard to stick the the IBM standard at least through the Thinkpad lineage.
Even in that, Thinkpad windows Tablets have been truly poor.
But the standard business machines whatever we have, works solid. I'd never look at anything else with Lenovo, other than the Thinkpads. Come on, you gotta love those military standard builds and blinking green LEDs
The other ones I liked were Dell Latitude series. They were decent & reliable as well.

My 9 year old iMac finally died a few months ago. Not sure what I was thinking but I bought an Intel NUC and set it up with Windows 10.
Total piece of crap. About 30% of the time it will blue screen (with 1 of about 8 different messages) within 5 minutes of booting. The various messages indicate it might be some driver (but no indication of which), the RAM (which tests fine and works perfectly elsewhere) or the SSD (which also tests fine and works elsewhere).
Maybe your Bootcamp problems are as much about Microsoft or Intel as Apple?
BTW - I'm waiting until October for a rumored Apple Mac event. The Intel NUC may have a very short life.
