The reality is that contract law needs to exist because there is no practical way to contractually define all possibilities. So disputes about what was meant and what is fair will always arise. There is no other possibility (not with humans.)
And for that to be real a legal system must exist. And if one allows that to be financed by markets then there is an increased perception that economic biases will exist and likely that they actually will exist. Thus a third party would always be required to maintain that. Since there are other needs for legal systems using a single source for all of that is efficient. Which leads to a government running the courts.

There's going to be a whole new tech created for storing your cryptocurrency keys securely, and a whole new malware tech created to break that security, and a whole new tech created to prevent malware from breaking that security.
Sometimes I think the point of technology is to create a problem that didn't exist, solve those problems with new problems that never existed, and basically keep us (developers and users) from doing anything real and useful.
We don't need AI. We just need the I part.

Hi All,
Got an odd emails from Apple yesterday at 16:27 saying I had renewed my subscription to Netflix's via my iTunes account. All very offical looking, I was tipped off to it be a scam by three things...
1) I don't have a Netflix's account
2) I was addressed by my Email address rather the Dear Mr Patton
3) I haven't got an iTunes account
I looked over the email and the link for unsubscribe/cancel went to a site ending .edu while the rest all pointed at Apple. Very good all in all if I didn't have my email client set to reveal what the actual address it points to. If I was using a mobile device and panic reigned it looked offical enough to follow links. Gosh darn it beaware! Just remember family might not be that web savvy and using email/Skype to catch up with relatives...

I chill by spending all the money I save by NOT having subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon, Sky and half a dozen other such services on things I actually want! Besides, there’s plenty of good stuff out there for free (some of ti even legal! ) eg on Walter Presents[^].. I refuse on principle to subscribe to such services – when (and I’m not holding my breath) they introduce reasonable PPV options I’ll think about it.
