I'm 39 and I agree with you man. We lost something... mainly how to communicate. A text message based life is one devoid of real human interaction. May as well be robots with no love in life ya know.

Well, at least, if we want to write some text, we use Notepad and don't upload video to Youtube like new generation youngsters.

As unlikely as it seems that anyone who grew up without a Facebook account could possibly be able to program a computer; should you ever get stuck on anything, just send a post card to your local retirement village marked "PLZ SEND CODEZ" and you might be surprised at the results.

If I had to pick it up seriously, board and voice are my favorite tools. I hate the internal facebook and chat system, I get things solved more quickly when talking to people. I only spend 50% of my time at my desk, the rest I am at people's place to talk to them. ( Of course, I take care not to interrupt them if they are in the middle of something else ).

But I do believe, what we have here are smart ones.So age wouldn't matter. The ones I have at work are more of a marketing folks running the company. It's a real plain to explain them things -The same things several dozen times.

I have received an offer for some "free" E-Books (I paid for an online course several months ago).
The instructor's announcement included links to the Free books on Amazon (currently priced at zero).
The Amazon pages all say "Kindle" on them.
I don't know the first thing about Kindle. From Day One, I had these inexplicable feelings of aversion to the whole concept.
So anyway, these "free" books were enough to convince me to try it, once, and I looked online for a free Kindle E-Book reader for my PC.
The list below contains links to the ones I've found so far, and I welcome truthful feedback from anyone who has actually used any one of these (and thank you for your donated brain-trons).
As is probably evident, I hardly have the first idea about anything related to Kindle.
In fact, I can't even tell if I'm looking at different software packages, or just the same one on different sites.
At any rate, thanks for helping a clueless guy.

Why would you not download the official free Kindle for Windows.
More to the point how are you going to deal with DRM, Amazon can, and have in the past, confiscate your library via Kindle if they perceive you are abusing their trust/app/right to rip money out of your wallet.
For many years I used a number of eReaders and Calibre to manage my library. I buy from Amazon, download and strip the DRM. I also buy from other sources but every book gets the DRM stripped out or I don't buy the book.

I'm ignorant on Kindle (I use Kobo because it does not want to own your books and your soul with DRM) but there is a software called "EPUB File reader" that does the job fairly good and it's lightwight.
"ICE book reader" is a trial version limited to 10 books in its library (but you can remove the ones you added and keep using it) and it's a bit better on some issues (like numbering pages, which EPUB file reader doesn't do).

Kindle's are brilliant, cheap to buy, long battery life, and more free books than you can shake a stick at. Also you can get their free e-readers for Windows, Mac, iPad/iPhone and Android. What's not to like?

Also you can go to read.amazon.com[^] and all of your content that is purchased via Amazon can be read right in your browser. You'll have to sign into your account.
If you have a book that was not purchased via Amazon but is a kindle version you can upload using amazon's software :

I believe those books can be made to show up in your browser (read.amazon.com) also.
I'm not sure why Amazon doesn't push this / market this better / more.
