So we binged the new Netflix version of Lost in Space over the weekend. Nicely made, decent fx but a poor retelling with more holes than a block of swiss cheese. I lost all those long hours I spent watching it - interminably slow, lackluster; the best/worst actor was the robot. Note: we ended up fast forwarding a ton of the really boring bits - how did we know they'd be boring? Any scene with 2 actors facing each other ends up being a crap fest of pointless talking that does not advance the story. Took nearly 10 hours to do what the original did in the pilot.
Less "Danger, Will Robinson", more "Danger - don't bother watching!"

I watched the first two episodes. We liked the robot - the humans were dreadful. It's as though the scriptwriters went to cliches'r'us for the script. I won't be watching the rest of the series.

agree 100%. Could only (barely) stomach the first episode.
Not only boring, but there wasn't a likable character in the whole lot.
It was interesting to us that the character of the children was basically summed up in "disrespect for anyone over 20".
Really terrible writing and a terrible story.
They even attempted to try the new story-telling where things are out of order and the director / writers were really bad at it.

Will Robinson was in both the original and the remake, and also in Babylon 5 - as was his mother!
He was a lot better in B5.
(The same actor played Will Robinson, the real Dr Smith, and Lennier. June Lockhart also played Dr. Laura Rosen in Babylon 5)

I did the same. I could spot several inconsistencies, amongst them:
- the child who leaves a hyperbar box in a few seconds (should have exploded miserabiliy).
- the fuel tanks in the Jupiter which are said to be at top and bottom of the ship at the beginning, and which surprisingly become stored on the side a few episodes later.
There were others, but I seem to have forgotten them as fast as I watched the show.
IMO, a quickly-setup family-show with little value to science-fiction fans.

yes...and I look at Killjoys continuing and just wonder. Much more to Dark Matter than the stupid Killjoys. Think Dark Matter was one of the best space cowboy shows ever.

That was really sad...One of the better SciFy (SyFy) shows. Much better than Killjoys. Also hated to see Grimm go, and Dirk Gently, and Penny Dreadful. The last I understand since it had to be super expensive. Still can't believe that Supernatural has lasted 14 seasons. Still really like that show.

I was not really happy when the SciFi channel took that name. Never thought it was appropriate, and with time it became even less so given that they have paranormal (not so reality show), which I absolutely hate, horror, and a few other things I think are far from scifi, and would have liked to have seen a more general scifi usage, but that is obviously a pipedream given the way .com uri's are used.

I'm not sure that that channel is available in Australia but I have never seen it. I just hate the way it changed to SyFy and you just know it will get pushed out to general use soon enough.
