This may be because it's a contrived example, but I'm thinking if you're going to have a CSS class named "red", whose only job is to set the color of the given element to red, then you might as well hardcode the color right in the HTML.

If you decide "red" should instead be yellow, then your CSS names are just going to cause confusion, unless you also change the name at the same time. Although I get what you probably meant to say, and that would be perhaps to name "red" to something like "error" instead--representing a state rather than details about its implementation.
