GeneralOffline Files Weirdness Pin

I'm working on the laptop from hell again and have discovered yet another issue working with offline files. ASP.Net under vs 2010 and 2017 refuse to keep session variables when the project is run from it's normal location, on a mapped drive made available offline. Copy the project over to a local drive and it works fine. Confused |

Other weirdness abounds. Other .Net projects/apps are also failing with generic SocketExceptions when run from the offline folder but work perfectly from a local drive. I first noticed this behavior with my home-rolled ftp utility several month ago but just moved it to an external drive that travels with me.

I've been working with offline/synchronized folders for almost 20 years and this behavior is either new to Win10 or I have some other problem(s) with this laptop.

Regarding this laptop, I call it the laptop from hell due to the fact that it acts possessed sometimes:
0: when trying to login, the login box goes black (loses focus) while I'm typing, sometimes 3-4 times before I'm able to get my password in.
1: at random times, sometimes 4-5 times a minute and sometimes never, the big, ugly winten menu pops up and the cursor has moved to the bottom left...makes it difficult to write code sometimes!
2: typing in a browser is painful as the it tends to skip letters quit oftn. Laugh |

Yes, the touchpad is disabled. It's touchscreen, but that's disabled as well. It's about 4 years old now, so it might be time for a spring cleaning, exorcism, reinstall everything. Other than that, it's a pretty good laptop and I should be able to get a few more years out of it. Smile | :)
