That's another benefit of using VM, I run my browsers/email on the host.

worth keeping what's installed on the guests to minimal requirements, cleaner, less to clone / snapshot or even rebuild, less chance of progs/installers interfering.
- If you run databases worthwhile to install on host or separate guests,
- also separate dev and test guests (common files/directories on host shared directories)
after many otherwise intelligent sounding suggestions that achieved nothing the nice folks at Technet said the only solution was to low level format my hard disk then reinstall my signature. Sadly, this still didn't fix the issue!
