You beat us again, looks like I didn't hollow out marriage enough. It was right in front of me. The answer was in my word list again... but I didn't find the solution.

We didn't have fancy GUI for writing code in the old days. Yes I use notepad to organize my thoughts. I still do it today.
I was writing C/C++ code using text editors such as vim all the way up until around the year ~2000 I don't remember the exact year. I didn't start using Microsoft Windows until sometime around there. I had a few Windows machines but I wasn't writing software for Microsoft yet.

I use a combination of physical unabridged dictionaries and some online tools.

I turn to digital tools when I get stuck solving these cryptic crossword puzzles. Some of them I wrote myself, but these days... the online tools are getting *very* good.

I am working in my spare time writing a CCC Solver using the dictionaries provided by the National Puzzlers' League. I don't expect it to be completed for over a year... it's alot of work and I am only working on it in my spare time. I am currently trying to import all of Wiktionary[^] into a SQLite database and that's not even completed yet.

I have considered making one myself, but I know it will end up getting shelved because of the difficulties in setting up a good source database.

enwiktionary is a 6GB uncompressed XML file. Let me know if you need any of the dictionaries, I think I've got all of the legal dictionaries. There are some others... but I would need to pay a licence to get access to them and would not be able to distribute them.

The only "warning of danger" with 7 letters that I could come up with was 'portent' (which was not on @Randor's list), but it didn't help.

I had ME and I, but for players I only thought of SIDE or TEAM. Not that it mattered, as I would never have got that word.
