Hi Friends,

Is there any way to block some specific sites in Local Area network?

I have tried adding 127.0.0.1 local host in hosts.

But i am looking for another better way to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Znaneswar

To what purpose? Why would you think blocking your own computer would work? Why don't you just not give the computers permission to access whatever it is that you are blocking? This sound more like network administration issue rather than a programming problem.

I'm working on employee based software. The requirement is . . need to block some social networking sites in working timings. That's the purpose.
I tried with host file. But its not working fine. because of cache sites are loading normally.

You need a proxy server.

1 solution

Use a firewall to block prgrams.
Even Windows Defender should do the trick - http://www.howtogeek.com/122404/how-to-block-websites-in-windows-8s-hosts-file/[^].

Yeah I have tried like that. But its not effecting on the browser. Data is storing in cache of browser and after blocking also sites are loading normally.
But its working after clearing the cache in the browser. But i want the way that effect immediately.

You could disable caching in the browser.
