Good day!

Im new in web development, I buy a domain in godaddy and set up a virtual machine in digital ocean as my hosting machine.... digital ocean provides me an IP address something like 236.213.74.35:2000... when I enter the IP address on the address bar of my browser my site appears...

The problem is godaddy didnt accept IP address with port number in A(Host) section.. I cant point my domain to my IP address...

What should I do?

Please help me..

Thank you!

That's an IPv4 address (236.213.74.35) and port number (2000).

An A record maps a name to an IPv4 address. It has nothing to do with port numbers.

Set your A record to point to 236.213.74.35 - just the IP address, without the port number.

If you can't get Digital Ocean to move your site to port 80, then your users will need to use the port number when loading your site. For example: http://www.yoursite.com:2000/
