I remember, years back the local shopping sites showing dumb pointless advertisements. On their home pages, e-mails, etc. Now with perfect Data analytics/BI, whatever you call it, these guys are tapping the exact sentiment, need, and all those vital instincts with the customers.
For example, In India, smartphones usage has gone up like mad, but people haven't opened up their wallets much for the expensive ones. The current deterrent threshold is like around $215. Vendors used to advertise like "Best Phones Below $215". But now they have narrowed the range down to $100 to $215. And all advertisements look like it's a certain hit, when users look at it.
And for smaller items like memory cards, USB flash drives, they've figured it out, that customers are making a Lynch-carting , ordering just on the go if it's less than $15. These analytics & BI services becoming like heart of their operations! Amazon India is just eating it up!

Has anyone noticed there are a "group" of members active here on CP.
They seem to be trolling or at the very least ask low quality questions and/or advertising.
Examples:
member 1[^]
member 2[^]
notice the profile picture which are all similar.
but I'm sure there are others.
So basically, if you see a profile picture similar to these, just ignore.

Don't judge by the profile picture.
I don't know exactly what or how but it's a default for the 'gravatar' profile settings or something like that.
At least as far as I can figure out.
Also there is a dedicated forum to post this:

Apparently it is some standard profile pic, so indeed that is solved.
I just happened to come across a few like those, all with a similar language usage and with low reputations, hence I thought they belonged to the same group.

I wonder when CP started doing that? My 11yo profile doesn't have one, so it seems they didn't backfill them.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

That's odd, because it got backfilled to mine.

The profile pic is a default thing that Codeproject do - Check my profile.
I seriously doubt a number of trolls have grouped together - for starters they need to have friends to do that.

If we kicked off everyone who asked low-quality questions, we'd be back to storing the member count in a byte !

I haven't watched these morons keenly, so not sure about the trolls. But what is really pissing me off is the "Up" votes that's put in most of the (original) posts. I was in an assumption that someone's really reading up my posts and voting it up diligently , but it turns out to be a zombie vote.
Every damn post is voted up here. Wish something could be done about this.
