Mexicans, Usians or Canadians.
I don't know who's having the biggest right to feel insulted.
The French I suppose, for being excluded.

As I recall, the problem isn't picking them up, but laying them down.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

I love it.
Coming from Windows 7, and not being able to update it as a specific and needed software was still not compatible with 10, I started yesterday to update my main development machine.
Good things that were not in 7:
- Being able to switch languages pressing Windows + space (while writing in a web form, in word...) this is wonderful, I guess that this is not needed by most of English speaking guys/girls here... but to me that write often in Catalan, Spanish and English... it is wonderful.
- I had only 10GB of free space before... now that I have everything again at it's place I have 100GB free... probably a copy of windows 10 ready to be installed, all the Lenovo drivers, that recovery partition that is not there anymore (but I have a recovery USB from Lenovo yay!) and who knows what else was lying under the know things...
- I can access the DLNA media server directly from the operating system.
- Edge works really well... I need to find out how to add more rows of "main sites" to get it as I like but appart of that I'm happy with it's performance.
- The display quality has improved a lot... Having 14" display and a high dpi resolution was not good with 7... now everything looks great.
- The way search works after pressing "windows" is really nice.
- Having one task bar under all the screens is nice. It would be great if the start menu would appear on the display the mouse is at the moment you press the windows key, but having the bar in all the displays is a good thing.
- Everything works fast and well...
There are small things that still need to improve but...
- Having Edge as the default PDF viewer is not good enough... can't rotate easily...
- Missing MRU (last used files) in the start menu.
- Would like to be able to change the wallpaper in the login screen... That cave and beach is...
At the end, I'm happy with Windows 10.

That's funny, I had to install some weird not-really-trustworthy tool to unblur everything on 125%. 150% worked, somehow, but that's way too much. It can't even be done with a registry tweak, MS in their wisdom has decided to reset that setting every couple of reboots.

...the first thing you may see some mornings after winten has decided that regardless of the number of projects, unsaved scratch notes, etc. that you left open yesterday, it really needed to restart. This has happened to me a few times, yesterday in fact, despite trying every setting available to force it to 'never ever restart without my permission'.
Other than that, I like it better than 7, which is saying a lot as I long considered 7 to be the pinnacle of MS OS's. My favorite new feature is the taskbar extension to multiple monitors.

I guess I'll have to learn to live with that auto-restart behavior...
In my case is very strange that I leave the computer ON by night, but...
Regarding that taskbar extension, I even used specific programs like Actual Multiple Monitors to get it in Windows 7, it was terrible to have it only at the main display.

I have only had Windows 10 for a couple of weeks and have been looking for a way to stop the automatic installation and reboot (I want the updates, but I need to be in control of when the computer reboots).
There are several ways if you Google a bit, but I am not sure if they still work because I don't see the described result in my settings window.
However, one of my setting might be working because right now I see this in my Settings window:
Update status Updates are available.
Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.239.1442.0).
Update settings Available updates will be downloaded automatically, except over metered connections (where charges may apply). You'll be asked to install updates when they've been downloaded.
I guess I will know by tomorrow morning if my setting works.

If you find success, please post here. I've had times where I thought I had it beat, only to eventually come in to work to see the lovely cave image and bite my lip as I realize that I had at least half a dozen projects, multiple spreadsheets, a few notepad windows as scratch areas, and at least one unsaved query in SSMS. The projects and spreadsheets are fine, but I hate to think how many 'notes' I have lost over the last year and a half with 10.
Win7 had me spoiled that way, now just have to get used to tidying up before leaving.
Luckily, in just a few hours, I'll be on vacation for a week...going on my first cruise with my wife, idiot brother in-law and his wife. Bon voyage! See you suckers in a week!

The pending updates on my Windows 10 computer did not get deployed overnight, so perhaps I have found a setting that works. The problem is that I don't know which approach is working, but more importantly, as you and other people out there have indicated, I don't know if this will last.
- I followed the steps in this article: How To Turn Off Automatic Updates In Windows 10 Via Registry[^] , but the UI in my Settings did not change to match the screen shots in that article.
- This one I cooked up on my own:
- Opened the Local Group Policy Editor (run gpedit.msc)
- Under
Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Update - I opened
Turn off auto-restart for updates during active hours - Set it to
Enabled - Set
Active Hours to start and end at the same time, 8 AM .
The comment in the window says "Note that the max active hours length is 12 hours from the Active Hours Start Time", so I don't know if the MS logic will ignore the End Time I configured, if it will interpret my settings as a 24 hour active day, if it will implode the universe or do something else.

Creators update feels a bit intrusive as it asks if it can display "relevant ads".
See : show relevant ads[^]
Also, one thing I've run into on my laptop with NVidia graphics is that my screen flickers and blurs like crazy. I've installed various drivers. Gone back to previous driver versions and many other things to no avail. It was flickering so bad at one point that the screen would go black for 20 seconds or so.
Quite terrible.
However, other than that, Win10 is okay for the most part. For an OS As A Service (OAAS), I guess.

Relevant ads...
At least it seems they can be disabled... I read that explorer was showing ads in some windows versions... I hope this is fake...

When you disable it, it says it will display "irrelevant" ads instead...

After reading that people complains for a myriad of things I'm happy to see that here it works well...
I was truly worried about the installation (activation problems, first upgrade, then reinstall...), but having received the USB with the Lenovo system recovery, it has been as easy as it could be.

Hi, I've just navigated there but no setting seems to be useful to get the start menu opening in the right display...
It doesn't matter where the cursor or focus is, the start menu always gets opened at the first display when I press the Windows key...
