I just told you how it worked. You go enumerate the form's Controls collection, check the type of control and, depending on the type, use AddHandler to wire up it's Paint event to your own custom paint code.

I don't of any skinning tutorials, at least none that show you how to write your own component. Using a third party component, I've seen.
Though, see what you can gleen from this[^]. It's not a good article because it doesn't explain anything about the code or concepts. But, if you can read the code, you might get something out of it.

As per the requirement, drag drop a tree view on your form. And in form load event write this:

Hello everyone. I'm building a forms application and i want to build a security system but i don't know where to start. I have divided my application in modules and i have a login form. But want to build something like windows: Users can see somethings and can press some button but in other plases he cannot.
Could some one give some lights so i can guide myself. I would like to build it myself but if you could point out some 3rd party product in last resourt lol.

I guess you mean that you need to give user specific access rights.
In this case, you can implement roles and rights based application. You can have certain roles defined in the database and provide them with certain rights. Then you can assign each user with a role and depending upon that you can provide the access rights.

One way to handle this is to use RoleProvider[^] and MembershipProvider[^] classes (inherit your own implementations). Those classes help you to create custom role-based privileges.
On those pages there are good example implementations you could have a look at.

Yes you can use it. Simply add reference to System.Web. The examples are for ASP.NET and I believe it's mostly used in ASP scenarios but there's no reason why you couldn't use those in winforms.

I have a Linux share in my machine( windows 2003), a Linux application is putting some data files into this share.I am getting some files, and the file name contains '*' , which cannot be processed using windows, because '*' is a illegal character in windows while creating a file name. How can i use that file?

Hi.
I have created a dll in VC++ 08 that exports a CLR windows form class. I call into this dll from an external (closed source, third-party) application to instantiate the form and embed it into the external application window using SetParent(). The problem is, the form runs in the external application window, but the external application no longer updates (renders, responds to close button click, etc.).
Now I know the reason is that in order to keep the CLR form displayed, I had to use Application::Run(gcnew MyForm())--a selfish method that causes the form application to loop forever, not giving the external application a chance to process. How do I let the two windows be friends and share processing time?
I'm a 'n00b' at most of this, so please n00bify the answer for me. I won't be offended if you explain it to me as if I were a 2-year-old, handicapped child. (Please do!) I'm thinking the obvious answer may be the use of threads, but I can't seem to wrap my mind around the concept of threads (if that is even the answer). If there is a way to use Application::Run() and/or a custom form update loop, please enlighten me to one or both paths. (Code is greatly appreciated, of course.) Thanks!

I have a Main application form which has an MDI form. This MDI form has a control. When the control is larger than the MDI form, scrollbars appear which is fine. When i maximise the MDI form, it is big enough to contain the entire control, hence scrollbars should not appear. But the scrollbar still remain in the same position but they are non-functional. When i resize the form it disappears. It seems to me that its a refresh problem. And it doesnt happen everytime, it happens once in a while.
Please suggest a solution.
