xampp problem with .htaccess

i want seo friendly url but my .htaccess not works
have i to do some chnages to make it work

Check if the Rewrite Module in your Apache Server running or not... The htaccess file uses RewrtieEngine to generate user friendly url and if Rewrite Module is not activated or enabled then the htaccess file will generate error...
