How to use LetterRecognizer in Android- Gesture

I'm implementing a gesture search feature in my application, I've noticed that in the Gesture class docs it reads:
"A user-defined gesture can be recognized by a GestureLibrary and a built-in alphabet gesture can be recognized by a *LetterRecognizer*."

How can I use the LetterRecognizer?
