GeneralJust did a code test. PinmemberPHS2411-Feb-13 3:07
Agency phoned me out of the blue this morning about a job I applied for but was filled by another candidate. He looked at my CV and thought it might be of use as the company in Brighton were considering getting another developer in but hadn't been given enough engineering related developer CVs to take it further. He punted my CV at them just after 9.30 this morning. I got an email at 10.30 inviting me to do their code test which I did from home. I emailed back with the solution around 12-ish.
I'm sensible enough to know the code test doesn't mean anything. But after three months of leisurely life at home and hearing nothing from the knobs who work for agencies, it made a nice change to speak to one who was interested and to get put through to a company who actually liked what I've done. I'll probably hear Monday about the outcome. It leaves me feeling a bit more upbeat about the job market but nothing is of course assured.
Th agent was a nice bloke. He comes from Yorkshire and wanted to know if I'd watched the cricket this morning. No. I didn't. But that's Yorkshire blokes for you. I'm off to the mall for a coffee and some cake. Chill out as it's another Friday. This weekend I will take a precautionary approach to things and revise my OO, threads, sockets, and data acquisition.
I like the idea of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but I also know it could be the lights of an oncoming train - on the same track. WTF. Big Grin | :-D
