I have been a software developer for about 20 years, mostly in small IT department that means you do all the roles all the time from 1st line support to 3rd line diagnostics and help authoring. To be fair, I don't do enough of the later which in turn causes way too much of the former with new staff always ready to show you how unintuitive your interfaces are!
I generally consider myself a "data plumber" with the majority of my work in back end SQL. If I could rule the world by writing a SPROC I would....
New definition of Stoicism: Someone who start a career in I.T. and still has a career in I.T. after 20 years!

I enjoy coding like an excellent beer. My particular passion and experience lies in the realm of modeling and code generation. In the late 80s and early 90s, I was involved in early modeling and code generation tools that reached the marketplace, including a tool that modeled FORTRAN programs and generated FORTRAN for parallel supercomputer architectures, and a tool that managed Shlaer-Mellor models and generated C++ code. Over the years, I have applied Shlaer-Mellor, UML, and custom modeling and various code generation techniques to greatly benefit the development of enterprise applications.
My current passion and endeavor is to foster the evolution of model oriented development. In particular, I am passionate about evolving the Mo+ model oriented programming language and related model oriented development tools, with as much community input as possible to achieve higher levels in the ability to create and maintain code. The open source site is at

5+ years experience in Software Engineering. I love to develop solution using C# and .NET Technology very much. I also enjoy building iOS and Android apps using Xamarin. My strength is in algorithm design and analysis. I also have a great ability in solving programming and system trouble.
I regularly write on
my blog.
I graduated from Washington State University in Computer Science (undergrad + masters). I've spent over 10 years in software development for a National Laboratory, a startup engineering company, and a nuclear processing plant. This has provided me with a diverse set of experiences and skills. I have worked extensively with C++ (w/ MFC, STL, & Boost), C#, Python, and Qt. I'm also comfortable with VB.Net, and HTML/XML, as well as tools like Visual Studio, JIRA, and Subversion. I have a strong background in mathematics & graphics and have delved into graph & network theory, information visualization, data analytics, SCADA/HMIs, and artificial intelligence.
Also, I'm not quite as old as I look.

All my life I have been passionate about architecture / software design, as this is the cornerstone to a maintainable and extensible application. As such, I have enjoyed exploring some crazy ideas and discovering that they are not so crazy after all. I also love writing about my ideas and seeing the community response. As a consultant, I've enjoyed working in a wide range of industries such as aerospace, boatyard management, remote sensing, emergency services / data management, and casino operations. I've done a variety of pro-bono work non-profit organizations related to nature conservancy, drug recovery and women's health.
Been programming for 40 years now, starting when I was 13 on DEC PDP 11 (back in the day of paper tape storage, and hex switch boot procedures). Got right into micro-computers from an early age, with machines like the Dick Smith Sorcerer and the CompuColor II. Started CP/M and MS-DOS programming in the mid 1980's. By the end of the '80's, I was just starting to get a good grip on OOP (Had Zortech C++ V1.0).
Got into ATL and COM programming early 2002. As a result, my gutter vocabulary has expanded, but it certainly keeps me off the streets.
Recently, I have had to stop working full time as a programmer due to permanent brain damage as a result of a tumour (I just can't keep up the pace required to meet KPI's). I still like to keep my hand in it, though, and will probably post more articles here as I discover various tricky things.
I'm working with computers since the 80's of the past century, when I received as a present a 48K Spectrum which changed all my life plans, from a scientific career to a technical one. I started working in assembler language, in low lewel systems, mainly in the electromedical field. Today I work as a freelance, mainly in .NET Framework / database solutions, using the C# language.
I'm interested in scientific computer applications, and I,m learning AI and data analytics technics. I also own a technical blog, http://software-tecnico-libre.es/en/stl-index, where I publish some of the practice works of this learning process.

Ramon has a bachelor in Information Systems at University of Caxias do Sul. He started his career in the creative area, working with web design, and then evolved to work with a more hardcore area of control systems engineering while making C#/.NET systems to automate every kind of process. This was when he discovered his passion for the low-level world, working with C, C++ and D development.

Robert works as a full stack developer in the financial services industry. He's passionate about sustainable software development, building solid software and helping to grow teams. He's had 20+ years of development experience across many areas that include scheduling, logistics, telecommunications, manufacturing, health, insurance and government regulatory and licensing sectors. Outside work he also enjoys electronics, IOT and helping a number of non-profit groups.
Individual software developer, good experience with PHP, Java, .Net, NodeJs, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, LESS, CSS3, HTML5, jQuery, CoffeeScript, ExtJS, Backbone, AngularJS, AJAX, Amazon s3 services, Azure. Programming is not just my work, but more like a hobby. I'm glad to learn new pattern and technologies, making research and study new things. I work remotely for couple of years. More than nine years I'm writing commercial projects.
Working on different projects and technologies from web to low level core programming, from scripting languages to C++. With all this stuff my personal opinion is that C#,.NET and Microsoft environment is the best thing programmer may have. Basing on it I prefer to publish only about my favorite technologies that are .NET and Azure now.
P.S. Looking for partnership and cooperation in outsourcing.
I started programming in Basic, Pascal, Fortran and C in the late 1980s during my last semesters at the University of Bonn, Germany, where I studied Physics. As a professional software engineer I moved on to C++ and C# in the field of scientific data acquisition, data analysis and - my favourite - data visualization.
From the very start of my life as developer I have been a fan of graphics, especially 3D graphics. I have been working with OpenGL, XNA and WPF 3D. Planning to start with SharpDX in the near future.
Besides programming I love making music (guitar and violin), doing sports (rock climbing and volleyball) and spending time with my beloved family.

I started my IT career in programming on different embedded devices since 1992, such as credit card readers, smart card readers and Palm Pilot.
Since 2000, I have mostly been developing business applications on Windows platforms while also developing some tools for myself and developers around the world, so we developers could focus more on delivering business values rather than repetitive tasks of handling technical details.
Beside technical works, I enjoy reading literatures, playing balls, cooking and gardening.
