Try opening IIS. Expand the Treeview that contains all sites/sub directories etc. Look for the virtual directory called "myapp" (or whatever you've named your site). Right click ->Properties. Under the Directory tab, click the button that says "Create" (which is inside the Application Settings group) then click OK.
I have googled for tips/solutions and failed to get a right method to implement following scenario.
I have a gridview populated with data on page load from my source table.
To make it precise I have fields Ac_Id, Ac_Name, Balance, and user_Id in my table. The user_Id and Ac_Id forms the composite key.
When I try to built my web project I get the following error: "A namespace does not directly contain members such as fields or methods" for a file called 'DownloadFiles.aspx' (which has also an code behind file). The error should be in lone 1 row 1.
1- Create a table to store the type of control, default value, lookup code and other info like isMandatory etc.
2- Read the values from database and create controls dynamically on the basis of type.
3- Check the type and if dropdown or list then bind them from some lookup table on the basis of lookup code.
4- Add controls to the form container.
I have some vague requirements at the moment but basically I need to take some data from a local database and use it to update the data in a remote database. The local application does not have direct access to the remote db.
Because of the nature of the business, this data update needs to be a fast as possible. My first instinct would be to put up a webservice on the remote server and use this to update the remote database but does anyone know of a way that would be significatly quicker?
Your method sounds reasonable, if you can't get access to it via VPN or similar then a secured web service is going to have to be the way to go. Nothing's faster than a point to point really, the main concern I suspect would just be security.
The local DB will probably be mySql and the remote will be Sql Server so I don't think that would work. Also the data is not replicated as such, it's used to alter the data in the remote db.
I should also say that this transfer will occur pretty regularly but not at time defined intervals.
So what I'm thinking is that there would be a local app to get data from the local db and to send it to a remote webservice which would use that information to update the remote db unless there is a faster way to do it? Is remoting likely to be faster?
But i am getting error in the 3rd parameter of the script as "Syntax error".,
Plz help me to solve this I have tried with with out single quotes also, then aslo i am getting error, tell me to rectify my mistake...,
