What I see is that the application contains at least two activities.. One to load the list, and other to load the definitions.
You can, create an activity to load the data from the database, and then for each of the item in database create a list item in the list view. You can set the click listener for each of the list item, which would start the new activity.
The new activity can be passed with the value (word) to load the definition of, from the database.

We are struggling with an Android video recorder which is compatible with Android 4.0 and above and can work on most of the smartphones from the manufacturers. Any guidance would be highly appreciated.
What I meant is that the video recorder which we have coded, works on some phone and does not others.
When you change the parameters e.g. resolutons, bitrate, frame rate for compressing the video the recoder invariably get struck and freezes completely.
The video recorder should be such that users can record video (H.264, AAC, .mp4) and can even change the paramets (resolution, bitrate, frame rate) to compress the footage. The maximum size of the video we are looking at is 10MB.
Not in any useful way. We have no idea what your code is doing so we cannot begin to guess what might be the cause. You will need to do some debugging and collect some information about exactly what is happening for anyone to be able to help you.
Hello, I'm a final year student in the university and my project is on android programming. Please Does anyone have journals on android programming? or a link to the journals? Please I need help. My e-mail address is email@example.com
I'm new to android programming. plus i'm not a computer science student. I study Enginnering. So I'm not ashamed to ask for help. My professor(supervisor) said android programming will be good for me, so I developed interest. I have programming skills. I just haven't delved into android programming before

There is a lot of overlap between these two disciplines, research being one such aspect. From my viewpoint point, you've spent more time on this forum compiling your question and responses than it would have taken to do a simple Google search, the later of which would have provided you with a plethora of information and examples. Android articles here at CP are becoming more and more prevalent each day.

Nor should you be.

Has any part of your course suggested that you need to learn how to do research? Typing "Android development" into Google will find you a wealth of useful information. You could also look at some of the aticles at http://www.codeproject.com/KB/android/[^].
I would hope your university has an online search engine where you might be able to pull up some scholarly articles. If not, that's unfortunate.
