We cannot run a .Net 1.1 programs on Vista, from a network drive (on XP).
On the Vista computer, using the "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Wizards" we tried to change the security level of "Local Inranet" zone, as we do on XP computers, but it did not help.
Finally we discovered that adjusting the security level of "Internet" zone to "Full Trust" helps, and only then we can run our program from the network drive.
Why does Vista consider network drive to be "Internet" and not "Local Inranet" as XP does?

This is actually a change in IE7. The security zones only detect 'Local Intranet' if you're on a domain (and, I think, currently logged on to the domain).
I thought there was an option that enabled the old behaviour but can't see it at present. However, I'm on a domain so the options might be different.

Are you talking about a web based session here? If so, then no you can't. Sessions are allocated via the web server.

i think you are going in wrong way .........
you want to check how much or how many time the session is alive/created
both are different .........
you can do that in Global.asax page

Since nobody responded to my previous question[^], I did some more research and thought I'd try a different approach, but the solution I found was only given in C# and VB, and I do not know how to translate this to MC++ since MC++ doesn't have the foreach keyword.
I want to try to implement the code given at http://www.syncfusion.com/FAQ/WindowsForms/FAQ_c44c.aspx#q1008q[^]... the link won't take you directly to the question in Firefox, so it is question 5.87 (the same snippet is given on MSDN[^] but the navigation on that page is broken).
Basically, I am using a DataGrid as a display-only control, so I don't want to be able to do any editing using the DataGrid. The above-cited question has the suggestion of removing all controls from the DataGrid (except for the scrollbars):

there is no magic involved in foreach; it expects a enumerable list of items of the correct
type (it is not ignoring list elements that ar not of the type you want, they would throw!).
So you can replace:
foreach (Control c in Controls) {
c.something();
}
by
int n=Controls.Count;
for (int i=0; i<n; i++) {
Control c=Controls[i];
c.something();
}
because in this case Controls is a Control array; you could generalize with the enumerator
interface if necessary.

Hi,
My program is a Visual Studio add-in.
i want to extract the project information of any .**proj file
I know that VSProject2 ant Project types exist in the .net framework. But, i only know the way to get the projetc information of the current working solution.
I would like to be able to open any .??proj from file path and enumerate is file items.

i have tried many times using usb to serial converter in order to communication but i havent done it it works on hyper terminal.i have asked many people this topic but they dont know it s reason.i have laptop.so it hasnt serial port.i need serial port for my greduation work.if anyone can help me i ll be very very pleasure.

What exactly is your problem? Your USB-RS232 adapter works in hyperterminal but not your C# program, or your USB-rs232 adapter doesn't work at all but you can communicate using a RS232 port on an older desktop.
If the former, there're multiple articles giving RS232 libraries on this site that work find for sending a steady stream of bytes. They all performed really poorly when writing a single byte at a time instead of dumping a file. The only free library I found on that subject was published in MSDN magazine.
If the later, I strongly advise you to cut your losses and find a desktop to use for the project. The USB-RS232 adapters out there are almost(?) universally unreliable and very inconsistent in what applications/devices they actually manage to work with successfully.

it worked in my desktop.but why cant it work in my laptop?i can not find its reason.visual c# has serial component.may be visual c# doesnt allow using virtual device.i must solve this problem if i cant solve so i cant go on in my project.thanks for your kindness

Does your desktop have an integral serial port, or are you using the USB device on both. If the later I don't have any idea what your problem is. If the former, your only option is likely to be trying a different brand. Most USB-RS232 adaptors are very poor quality and don't follow the spec correctly or in total. AFAIK part of the problem is that the RS232 spec doesn't map well to USB at all. Read online reviews for the products. If you're using a specific device look for one where you can find someone say it worked with it, or contact the manufacturer for recommendations. If you're talking to a custom device the best I can suggest is to pick one that has extremely few complaints. I've never used one, so I can't recommend any particular model.

My C# application has unhandled exception on client computer with .NET Framework, without Visual Studio. When this happens, .NET Exception message which contains useful information like exception type and exception trace, appears for a short time, and immediately replaced by standard exception dialog with "Send to Microsoft - Don't send" buttons.
Is it possible to get exception trace and file name on this computer by some way?

Why not set up a global exception handler in the Main method? Any exception that the application throws is then caught and you can handle in any way you like.
