If you don't want to use that, there are other options. For example, Firebird and SQLite are both small and free. They work well in C/C++ and .Net. Try to do a search and check them out. However, VS2005 is compiling references to COleDateTime from the ATL namespace, causing linker errors in other projects that link to this library. Any ideas on how to stop it? TIA. I tried a consol app + COleDateTime in VS 2005 without ATL. It is working fine for me. By the way are you mixing older (6.0) libraries and the new 2005 libraries? Irritatingly if I don't omit out a library (atlsd.lib) I get things missing but if I leave it in I get multiple definitions. Maybe I just need to create a blank project and add the files to it. I hope you realise that hamsters are very creative when it comes to revenge. - Elaine Re: VS2005 using ATL when it's not set Jonathan Davies1-Feb-10 1:25 Jonathan Davies 1-Feb-10 1:25  Hi Steve, I'm afraid I'm not sure what you'll have to do though as its a shared class I'd expect you'd link to some Shared library but I'm not sure what that would be now. A common shared class is CString as there's is/was both ATL/WTL and MFC versions before they became shared. It may mean you just have to scope your call with MFC:: or add some #pragma statement of some sort. I'm pretty sure there were whole articles written on how to get around similar problems raised by the sharing of CString so it may be worth your while having a look at one of those. But we can only take the names (function names imported/exported) of methods. We cannot look up their parameters(in/out)names with their types and return type of method.(as these parts encoded as HEX) Is there any way out to extract these as well..?
