Can you plz tell me that how can i show data from sql server in sharepoint list ...ie i wabt a column in a custom list that when user fills the column data he will get a drop down that will show data from a sql server database and then when he selects a value i want some other fields to get auto populated getting their data also from the database.
Egon Software Pvt Ltd,
Let me start out by saying that I am aware that you can pass parameters to an InfoPath form by coding the FormEvents_Loading event.
Unfortunately by adding code to the InfoPath form you then have to have the form authorized by a system administrator. My client finds this intolerable when developing an InfoPath form.
I am looking for a way to pass data to an InfoPath form field without coding so that the form can be published directly to a form library, without the need for authorization from the system administrator.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
If that is not possible is there a way to include custom functions in InfoPath so I could use it to format a field?
Suppose I have an array of IDs in my code and I want to use them to filter a list.
I need to use SpQuery because I need the resulting view to be rendered as HTML.
So how can I filter by ALL the IDs?
Should I create an OR statement for each one or there is a more logical way?
i like not to install SQL Server. i like to tell the SharePoint 2007 to communicate with the installed Oracle database manager instead whenever it needs to communicate with a database manager.
is it possible?
I am fairly new to sharepoint and I want to display data from a list in sharepoint like a table with colums like author, date added, title etc.
The title column should be like a link which when clicked, takes to the list item page.
Which WebPart should I use and how do I configure it.
One of my users is having a problem when uploading a file.
After selecting the file to be uploaded, clicks OK and gets an error screen.
He goes back to the site, and the file is placed there, checked out.
He can't check in, because there are some fields that must be filled.
He gets an error when he tries to "Edit properties" to fill those fields...
So, can't complete the file, can't check in...
He has Design profile.
The thing is, that I have tried to upload files and it is everything ok.
Any clue? Have you ever had a problem like this?
How to deploy InfoPath 2007 browser-enabled form web application in the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 _layouts Folder.
I have hosted the InfoPath 2007 Form Editing Environment in a Custom Web Form as explained in msdn "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa701078.aspx".
But I need to deploy this in the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 _layouts Folder so that a SharePoint site will have a /_layouts path from the root of the Web. For example http://servername/sites/sitename/_layouts
I'm relatively new to Sharepoint. Kindly help me regarding the requirement below:
I'm currently building a code where I need to programmatically create a form library based on a custom template, as explained further. Let us say, I have site collections sc1 and sc2 under the same web application. I have a form library manually created in sc1 and have saved a custom list template (as customTemplate.stp) based on this library under the List Template gallery. Now, If i want to create another form library under SC1 based on this template, I use the following code:
using(SPSite site = new SPSite(#URL for SC1 was input here#)
using(SPWeb web = site.RootWeb)
SPListTemplateCollection customListCollection = site.GetCustomListTemplates(web);
//Using custom List template name, the template can be retrieved
SPListTemplate customList = customListCollection["customTemplate"];
web.Lists.Add("New Library", "New Library created based on custom template", customList);
The above code works fine. However, I need to create a form library in the site collection sc2 using same custom template (which resides in SC1) and I'm unable to access this template after creating a SPSite & SPWeb object for site collection SC2. Actually, I have more than 10 site collections (similar to SC2), where I need to use this template. How can I access this template across all these site collections? Is there any other way to do this?
As my question was answered in the previous post;
I continued my project, however at the moment i'm running into problems (mainly performance).
Currently what i am trying to do is the following;
I have migrated the database to SPLists. What i need to do now is as following.
I need to select the sectorname of an employee which is in a totally different SPList (basically i have to loop through 3 other SPLists to get there).
These above listed are all SPLists with an ID
So lets say u have EmployeeID, which is listed in Function
In function you have EmployeeID and TeamID
Which goes to Team SPList, which has a TeamID and a SectorID
And finally Sector has a Name and a ID and i need the name.
Yes, i know it's a complicated structure, it works, i can get all data, but since there are quite some items in all the lists, its slow..
I have tried so far; Foreach loops, CAML queries and i'm currently trying LINQ queries, but i'm kind of stuck there.
My question really is, is this even remotely doable. Because i think it might be wise to revice the whole database (which would not be prefered at all).
As an update, i have been fiddling around with SPQuery, which seems ok, performance wise,
until i load the full DB to the SPLists (aprox 1000 records per table (SPList).
Having to go through that, is impossible, it takes about 10 seconds.
Does anyone have any other solution?
Thanks in advance!
