I understand "/../file " means " execute "file " in parent directory, but why is is used in first place ?

In this example I gather the "-L" is linked to "lib" four times.
Do not get it .

-L/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/5/../../../../lib 


Just asking.
