@Sean-Ewington
Sean, I'm working on a new article (https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/5348174/Thats-not-a-database-dude[^]) and it was all fine until I tried to check the spelling (Bugs and Suggestions[^]) then I broke for lunch, and tried to go back to it, and I can't get in at all - the browser just sits with the "loading" spinner in the favicon. I can't edit it, I can't even view it!
I can get into other article I wrote to view, but ... I can't edit them either. Oh oh ...
Did I break something, or is it a more generic problem? And can I get my article back, please?

I was able to edit another one of your articles and publish it successfully. Let me wait 10 minutes for the lock on the article to expire and I'll try to publish your article in InReview status (only people with the link can see it). From there we'll see if you can get access. If you can, make sure you mark that you're still working on it before you publish.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

Thanks Sean - it's already marked as "work in progress" so that shouldn't be a problem - let me know when it's safe for me to check!

OK this is in InReview status. I think you have to wait 20 minutes for the lockout, but after that, please let me know if you can edit it:
That's not a database, dude![^]

Hello, I cannot find my article that I have submitted, can somebody please help me? I have checked my draft as well.

Your article had a suspicious-looking link to scaler DOT com (a commercial training site) buried half-way down. At least five trusted users agreed that this made it look like spam, so your article was removed.
Assuming that wasn't your intention, I'd suggest resubmitting the article without that link.

What are some tips on getting your name appear on Wikipedia?

Hi,
When I try to publish my article I get the following error: Too many tags. There is a limit of 8.
I only have 4 tags in my article: BookCars - Car Rental Platform with Mobile App[^].
I'm trying to replace pixelated thumbnail but no luck.
Can you please help?
Kind regards,

I was able to submit the update. If you email me (sean@codeproject.com) the desired thumbnail, I can get it uploaded for you and also help you figure out why it might have been pixelated.
Thanks,

Thanks Sean for your quick reply. I sent you the thumbnail by email.

I have noticed several recent incidents of submissions being approved, as Articles, that fall way short of the criteria for that category. They should be Tip/Tricks or Projects, have often been flagged as "Wrong type" by multiple reviewers, but suddenly show up on the home page after being approved by "Editor or trusted author". Whatever is going on here is unfair to authors who must actually resubmit under the Tip/Trick category.

Hi Greg,
Please show me the culprits and I will deal with them.

What is the legal issue with images in articles? For example, can I put in an article image that is part of some company marketing material and publicly available, with a quotation of company material? Or some other image from some company website, with a quotation of Url? Or an image from some Pdf material, that is distributed publicly? Or how about a screenshot of some application forms, with the quotation of the company and product name? Or a screenshot of some hardware?

We have a note about image re-use here in our Plagiarism FAQ: CodeProject Plagiarism FAQ[^]
But I'm happy to answer more specific scenarios if you have them still.

I looked at https://sarafhawkins.com/copyright-fair-use-and-online-images/, and it looks like as long as I am writing a tutorial or research, I can use images from 3rd party sites....
It says:
#2: Why are you using the image? If it is “…for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research…” you’re on the right track.
Am I right?

Only a judge can really make a definitive ruling on fair use. Speaking to the law, I'm afraid, is out of my jurisdiction.
Here's how reusing images goes: No one notices. It's poorly policed. Possibly a DMCA request if someone did. Haven't seen one ever. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't do our best. As a site of authors, we don't want to be willy nilly taking and reusing work from another author or company.
Since I can't give you blanket permission, can you just tell me what image you want to use?
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

I understand it will be based on a particular case, the decision needs to be made regarding approval from the case to the case...
For example, screenshots of different mapping applications/products, as a part of the tutorial what the current technology approach looks like.

I'm a software developer from China. I used to browse CodeProject a lot. There are a lot of technical articles here to learn. But for the past year or so, the website has been loading abnormally, probably because ajax.googleapis.com and codeproject.freetls.fastly.net cannot be accessed in China. Can you consider changing a CDN?

Hi CodeProject,
I updated the article thumbnail with a higher resolution picture but the CodeProject homepage still shows the low res thumbnail. Please kindly look into it. Thanks.
