A simple join should get you the answer. I would recommend breaking down your query so you can understand the query better to locate the error. I hope you should know by now that you are trying to access a data that doesn't exist.

It is possible. Make use of the features that SignalR has to offer you, then just integrate it with your UI. You should be good to go.

It works for me. Try to rebuild the project, take away all the breakpoints, do a clean run and check the downloads. The suggested solution works best in all cases of Thread being aborted exception caused by Response.End().

You are welcome.
I hope you have declared this script before you used your actual jquery code. Just check for console errors in your browser's developer tool. It's easier finding and solving the error that way. If you need help, post the error here. We can help you solve it.

Well, you should consider that as a compliment ;) A plugin requires a lot of work no matter what size it is. Good work on that!

The plugin you use has the functionality of full page image transitions.
See here,
.cycle-slideshow {
height: 100%;
width: 100%;
display: block;
position: relative;
margin: 0 auto;
}
It's height and width are occupying the whole page and the menu is actually pushed under it. If you want to check, just make the height as 50% and run the page.
To have images as backgrounds, there a many methods. Here's a sample of the latest and efficient way:
html {
background: url(images/bg.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed;
-webkit-background-size: cover;
-moz-background-size: cover;
-o-background-size: cover;
background-size: cover;
}
If you want to use the same plugin but as background, just make some changes based on the sample and make it as background cover. Now you can build your controls on top of them. Cheers!

Your first try did not work. This could be why:
After copy pasting the code into the notepad you might have missed to select the Save As type, by default it will create a txt file no matter what extension you give it in the File Name.
Your second try worked. This is why,
While using Save As option in the page(http://code.jquery.com/jquery-2.1.4.js) your browser automatically selects the file type as Javascript File.

May be it is not supported in internet explorer. One way to find out at the earlier stage is to read the third party component's documents before using it in your application. If you are lucky you might get support from them.
