You'll have to write some JavaScript to show a div, modal or whatever you want on mouseover event.
Vincent Maverick Durano 7-Jan-20 14:25pm View

Then just changed the RowType checking to DataRow. I've updated the solution for your reference.

When you said not working, you mean it's not hitting the LinkButton event? Also, can you wrap your code in page_load within Not IsPostback block?

I can't seem to find any validation rules applied to your model. IsValid should return true for that.

Why are you calling a JavaScript function at the server in the first place? Any specific reason for that? Why not call the JavaScript function directly at the client instead?

Seems like you haven't tried what i've suggested. We're not here to spoon feed someone. You have to understand the suggested solution first and then apply it.

You have to debug your code. Set a a breakpoint at SelectedIndexChanaged and step into your code to figure out what went wrong. Also have you set AutoPostback to True for your DropDownList?

I've updated the solution. See the PopulateForm() method from the solution.

If you want to become a "real" web developer, then my advise is to get rid of UpdatePanel and use AJAX instead to do asynchronous updates.
Vincent Maverick Durano 8-Jul-19 15:14pm View

I would avoid AJAX Control Toolkit when possible and use responsive /cross-browser CSS such as bootstrap or jQuery instead.

That's normal since you are working with WebForms. ASP.NET WebForms generates the client IDs based on it's naming container. I don't think that causes the issue.
Vincent Maverick Durano 4-Apr-19 12:55pm View

What type is your Digicel.MARKETS object? How is it being declared? Note that the DropDownList control has a property called DataSource wherein you can assign the object that contains your data directly to it.

You should be able to set a class name for your Repeater.
Vincent Maverick Durano 4-Apr-19 12:29pm View

I think you need to use the Sheet name in your Select query. Perhaps this would help: https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/import-excel-data-into-sql-table-using-sqlbulkcopy-in-c-sharp/
Vincent Maverick Durano 3-Apr-19 17:33pm View

That's odd. Try to set a class name for your Repeater. For example:

<asp:repeater id="myRepeater" runat="server" cssclass="myRepeater">

then use the following to reference your repeater:

var repeater = $(".myRepeater");
Vincent Maverick Durano 3-Apr-19 14:23pm View

In theory, Yes. You could even try with .ASPX or ASHX file. However, you would still need to use AJAX to connect with your Web Method. Check this article: https://www.mikesdotnetting.com/article/104/many-ways-to-communicate-with-your-database-using-jquery-ajax-and-asp-net
Vincent Maverick Durano 3-Apr-19 14:18pm View

have you tried the jQuery approach? Using jQuery selectors should allow you to easily find elements within the DOM.

Anyway try to do an alert for this:

var repeater = document.getElementById("<%= myRepeater.ClientID %>");
alert(repeater);

Vincent Maverick Durano 2-Apr-19 11:38am View

You should have mentioned that in the first place. Dealing with controls inside a databound control such as a Repeater is different as you have to traverse it it's repeater items before accessing the actual controls.

This thread has been answered many years ago. Adding your solution to old and resolved threads like this is considered to be thread-jacking. Replying to very old threads (aka Necro-Posting) is discouraged on the forums as it moves those old threads ahead of the sites more recent threads.

Most of the people asking questions today very much do care what's recent. They are looking for help now. Most answerers look at the recent activity listings to see who needs help. If current questions are pushed down the list because old threads (many of which have been resolved) are reactivated, it makes it more difficult for new questions to be noticed.

While this site acts as a very useful reference tool, that's not its primary purpose. It's to provide help to people who need it now.

How are you defining your CSS? Your issue is more on mouseover right? If so, then look for any script/css in your project that relates to mouseover thing. It could be that you are referencing the old ids instead of the new static ids.

The Main method is for console type of app. What you can do is just call the Method Compute() in your TextBox KeyDown event.
Vincent Maverick Durano 16-Oct-18 9:52am View

You can surely can. Label control will render as <span> element in the browser. So you an use the innerHTML attribute of the table cell and insert your span. For example:

table.rows[0].cells[0].innerHTML = '<span>' + 'Test' + '</span>';
Vincent Maverick Durano 15-Oct-18 10:49am View

The issue is not with the naming. The error indicates that the function or method CloseDialogToTest() doesn't exist as the OnClick event tries to look for the corresponding Server event handler. based on your code: Table tbl = new Table();; you are creating a dynamic table. And in-order for you to reflect the colspan you assigned on postbacks, you have to recreate the table and apply the changes on the table cells. Otherwise, you would need to set the colspan at the client using JavaScript/jQuery which I don't know.

Looking back at the documentation, To do multiple selection, you have to use SHIFT or CTRL keys. Since a UWP app can target different devices including touch screens, they've designed it that way.

It's probably possible, however, it defeats the purpose since a GridView is designed to do CRUD in tabular/rows format. It isn't provide greater flexibility in terms of layouting compared to Repeater.
Vincent Maverick Durano 20-Aug-18 12:24pm View

If your intent is just to display data, then you may use a Repeater control instead to have more flexibility in terms of layout formatting. You could also use DataList since it provides properties like RepeatLayout and RepeatDirection that you can set.

While this site acts a a very useful reference tool, that's not its primary purpose. It's to provide help to people who need it now.

Hi, Please create a separate topic for your new question so answers on this thread will not be mixed for the sake of future readers.

Also, don't mark your own question as answer. This will confuse future readers who might be looking for a solution. Thank you.

when you test the app in Test environment, does your Quartz job executes fast or does it hangs up? I'd suggest you to create some logs to determine the time response from your Job/Scheduler.

Bad Request indicates that the server could not understand the request due to invalid syntax or the request was malformed. In other words, the data stream sent by the client to the server didn't follow the rules. Please double check your endpoint URL.

In ASP.NET Core, you should reference the connectionString from the Configuration.GetConnectionString() method like:

string connectionString = Configuration.GetConnectionString("SQLDB:SQLDBCONN:MySQLConnStr");

Better than mine. Just one thing, though it's not directly related to the question and it's not a big deal - when dealing with single table, use DataTable instead of DataSet. :)

Point taken. I've updated my solution to add paramterize query. Happy now? ;)
Vincent Maverick Durano 29-Jun-18 11:59am View

"And there's no guarantee that the user has no control over the ListBox items."

point taken. But since the items from ListBox are used as paramaters to query then I presumed that the items are coming from a database. Again, even if it's a hard coded one, the items are constant and not an input from the user.

"there could be a different screen where users get to manage the items"

You're maybe right. but I am curious how?
