Since i am ready file, it is not open in any other window so as you said it will show a dialog. Besides its not getting removed as i can see a thread of excel.exe in task manager. So there is no way i can handle this?

One thing i must say at first say is that excel templates change. Column names are dynamically set as per my above code.

When i select an excel file. it's shown in grid. so if i use value2 it will show that double value, which will cause problem and when i click another button, then its read from this datagrid and saved. That's the problem bro. If i can't know the format of date how on earth i can compare two dates. Like you said 01-02-2014 can be either Feb 1st 2014 or Jan 2nd 2014. How can i get the current culture?It's merely a string value. The data in excel is exported from TFS server, a work item like task,bug,user story anything like that

I can assure you that both string value will be in same format. But what i find nearly impossible is to find the format of the data. like its dd/mm/yyyy format or mm/dd/yyyy format. Culture info do play a role rt?

I think the reason is that the sortfield is not checked for every entity's field in the list

From what you have said, i thnk this is it. I declare a global list say a dictionary for each row. Then while the datatable containing the excel values are looped and saved in DB , the result is stored in the dictionary. But what i do want to know is that whether the cell painting is called automatically again after the db process? anyways i will try.datagrid.refresh, causes only its repainting rt?

But how can i call the event during the datatable looping?

The comparing data is the problem.. One browser returns wav and other x-wav for same file... so how to compare?

the reason i gave string is that the entity is set from a xml response (from a web service) and i found that int values passed over webservice have value maintaining problem. Since i don't know much about it i gave all entity values as string.

I am trying to list a product (say a Bike) i have to list among them the manufacturer the model and the service center..Only the service center name changes where as it remains the same for the manufacturer and model. This is the situation.. am creating a device(in portal for storing in DB) and i can select country where it will be available plus the agencies that are gng to fulfill the device order. I am storing these details in "device detail". Suppose i selected 2 countries there will be two rows with exact same value but with countryid being the only difference. when i list the page there r 2rows now as the country id is different,but my TL said to show in a single row provided the country shown separated by commas.. hope this will make things bit more clear
