i dont want to display in alert or popup..i just want to display the error message in a label that shud be dispalyed above the control.
i have done this:
<asp:CustomValidator class="errmsg" ID="cvFileExtension" runat="server" ValidationGroup="grpImport"

but with this im getting the message below the field

i don want to check if both are null or nut,i wan't to check that both of them cannot have value =0.
i have two text box:
InvoiceNumber and Account payable..
so either of them can be zero,but both of them cant be zero..
i don want to do it on server side as i don't want it to postback

put the DNN user in the db_owner role and make sure you have proper rights.
this normally happens when there is a problem with the user having deny privileges as well.
