The document gives an example of fixed size arrays. for example 'char line[21]', but I have a char pointer whose value is known only as the user enters the string.

Can gets be used if the size of the char array is known only at runtime., ie., only when the user inputs the string ?

Can gets be used when the size of the character array is known only at runtime (ie., only when the user actually enters the string) ? Further is getws() a standard C function ?

No. But where is it available and where should that file be?

Actually , what do mean by the symbol '**'. Is it product (Multiplication) ?

gcd(a,b) is greatest common divisor of 'a' and 'b'.
compuknow 18-Jun-13 13:38pm View

The only input value is : phival (ie., euler totient) = 43392. Additionally p=193 and q = 227.

phival = (193-1)*(227-1) = 43392.

Other values e_key and d_key are passed by reference for the sake of getting the keys.

Sir , that is what keygen() function does. keygen() function generates keys.
Please read my update. The problem i face is public and private keys are the same but asymmetric key cryptography rules it out.

Where should I put srand(time(NULL)) ? Is it outside the function ?
compuknow 18-Jun-13 12:47pm View

I have tried to explain some variables this function uses. Please see my update.
The program is somewhat large , while codeproject suggests not to dump the entire codebase. Will the forum allow me to insert such a large amount of code ? The program is organised into different files.

genrndnum(a,b) is a function which generates random numbers in the range 'a' to 'b' (also inclusive 'a' and 'b'). It is meant to be a short form for 'generate random number'.
compuknow 18-Jun-13 12:11pm View

Sorry , different values means ? Are you asking the p and q values (ie., the prime numbers).
compuknow 18-Jun-13 11:20am View

For example , (results I get after running the code) Public key = 5615 , Private key = 5615(which is wrong) , Modulus = 16279. Private and Public keys must be different.

I did it (used new operator , same error occurred.).I tried with structures instead of classes but did not work. Should i update the code.

How should I modify my code ?
compuknow 11-Jun-13 23:47pm View

The values for example are : p = 83 q = 241 publickey = 1660249 privatekey = 0 (the problem).

compuknow 11-Jun-13 23:40pm View

p and q are random. I have updated my question. Please note that genrndprimes(a,b) is function which would generate prime numbers within a the range 'a' and 'b'.
I will give the values (i have to modify code.).

I have updated my question with the method you suggest but i get zero as answer.
compuknow 11-Jun-13 23:32pm View

Why do i get a zero if i am going by 1/N mod lcm(p-1,q-1) , i always get zero regardless of what p,q or n are. I tried this earlier.

No , I am not a cryptanalyst , infact i am new to cryptography. This is not at all RSA , its Schmidt - Samoa public key encryption , the article is in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmidt-Samoa_cryptosystem).
I am trying to implement it using C++. According to the article , this is the way i should generate the Private key using the publickey (ie., N itself).

Are you asking the modulo in the function signature ? That modulo is p*p*q.
Any way this is a method which i had already tried "fmod((1/p*p*q),lcm((p-1),(q-1)))" but please understand i got 0 as the decryption key (in fact Always , generating p and q at random) , or is it something that I did not understand the formula properly ?

Is there any library you know which can store large floating numbers ? How can store values that are too small in C++ ? Does double support large values?
compuknow 10-Jun-13 4:57am View

Are there any simple ones , I found a simple library called 'InfInt' (with only one header file) but it cannot hold floating numbers. Are there any similar simple libraries ?

Actually , what do you mean by a binary array of bytes? Do they mean each element in the array are in boolean 0's and 1's format? The problem is I dont understand in which situations I must use these functions.

The output is 25 'smiling face' characters. This codeproject's HTTP interface does not allow those characters. Neither do I know the ASCII value of the output cipher characters. This is the problem I face in showing you the output.

I am not using any specific class or function for reading image files. I am just trying to load the entire binary file (jpg / exe) into a 1 dimensional array using commands in fstream.h.

But the problem is I am unable to manipulate the array data (elements).
compuknow 11-May-13 5:19am View

Changing it unsigned doesn't work , as suspected all the data in the input file does not match with those on the output file.

Is there any way to absorb image data from the image in hexadecimal matrix (array) format and then output it as a new image file.

The query string executes when executed through the MySQL Command Line Client.

ExecuteReader() must return perfectly because the query hits well through the dedicated command line client of MySQL.

The connection string works well with ExecuteNonQuery() Command , but not with ExecuteReader() command.

The application runs on the same machine where the MySQL server runs. In my connection string , i have mentioned localhost.
compuknow 18-Apr-13 22:10pm View

sir , what information is lacking ? I could have provided.

It would not be right to reveal a connection string in a Public domain as it contains security information.

The connection string is right , because it worked when i was inserting data into this same database , the connection string used for insertion is being used here for extraction.

The query string must be right because , i know there exists those columns which are being reffered in that query string.

Could you suggest any other method for receiving data other than ExecuteReader() ?

When i pass this command through visual basic , it puts double quotes before Firstname. Like this
"Firstname and MySQL prompts me an error.

I used the visual basic command cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() to execute the MySQL command string.

Thank you.

Sir, the links does not direct me to anything relevant to window box creation instead it tells about borland C++ only.

compuknow 30-Nov-12 11:41am View

Sir, actually i am asking a solution in borland C++ 5. I have no expertise in using visual C++. When i used visual C++ it just errors upon compiling saying that the associated .exe cannot be located. Visual C++ builds forms on its own. But i am required to explain its function also from top to bottom clearly. I am no expert in using windows based .NET or ActiveX Objects. The only thing i know is something about windows.h. When i entered something similar to drawing , the editor popped up a box showing some related drawing functions. But all are based on some complicated C++ classes , which i haven't seen in my books.

The functions in the MFC sections , i belive can be used only with visual C++. Borland C++ 5 does not even recognize #using preprocessor commands but has windows.h header files.

Sir , i have asked for a function which supports drawing functions. In my project i wanted to draw a box so that i can put some string (information) into it.

It is like an console based information box.

I know in turbo C++ there is graphics.h but my whole project is in C++11 and in C++ 11 i cant find something similar.

Is there any good functions which support drawing in consoles using C++11?
