There's only seven of us, so when I say the President has the most influence, it's not like he's making out-of-touch decisions from on high.

Hmm... "Whoever owns CListCtrl.com" wasn't even an option!

I wanted to check "you", "the loudest" and "the meanest/most evil person" which results in the same here, but the radiobuttons gave me just one choice .

.. it's obviously Bob the mascot! He seems to get talked about just a bit more than anyone else at CP

More like "Most Stubborn." Around here, whoever the last person standing is gets final say in what happens.
“Acer, Gateway, and eMachines are the same company now. Great! Now we just need a really big toilet, and we can get rid of all three at once.”

As a freelancer, the only possible option for me would be the "You" one, but this wouldn't make much sense (it does not reflect the situation in some sort of company). I am not a boss, I just decided not to have one - that's a big difference.
I work in different companies, where different people are in the driver's seat for different reasons.
And btw: the "Other" option in a multiple choice question is just like the Recycle Bin on the Windows desktop - using it doesn't make the whole system perform better. Essentially it says: I don't know (or don't care), but I want to state that.

You are wrong:
Essentially it says: Put CListCtrl here
Learn from the mistakes of others, you may not live long enough to make them all yourself.

If your company is public, then the shareholders have the most influence, because the CEO will do whatever it takes to please them

They aren't actually "in your company" though. Shareholders will certainly influence the direction a company takes according stategic, financial and marketing concerns from both the CEO and CFO, but they have to work through these people.

Ethically, the client and the result/objective driven process should be commanding a greater authority. But at least from this part of hemisphere, politically driven middle managers, out of their vested greed for more power and potential go astray fleecing the subordinates.

Clients really are the most important people in a certain sense. But they usually don't have any influence on the internal workings of a company - and they shouldn't.
So I think you are confusing the decision making process of a company with its culture (which has to be indeed client-centric)...

Nice one!!!
Here we have a mix... the CEO and customers
Either when the customers demand or the CEO wants it done... it happens!

Yes, but doesn't "in your company" mean those who are employed by or are part of the company? If you include clients, then you'll also have to include other external factors like the government, [edit] shareholders, as posted above [/edit], etc...
