I do not know that is it really weird or not!
It is a long time that I have this problem. The file name of my MP3 files change every nonspecific time but in a specific format. I mean the name of the artist will be add in the beginning of the file name.
For example it changes
13 Take Care (Feat. Drale)
into
Rihanna-Take Care (Feat. Drale)
I take care of storing my archive regular, so it's going to kill me.

uhm, what kind of virus would correctly name your mp3's for you? it looks like you have software automatically managing your mp3's. Like iTunes, WinAmp, etc.

I do not have; at least the software that you mentioned.

Would be a pretty friendly virus if it was cleaning up your file names - and only specific to audio files...
What software do you play your MP3's with? - I'd look to that in the short term.

Store a Justin Bieber mp3 without his name on it. That ought to kill whatever virus it is.

Maybe windows media player?
I suspect it automatically download extra information about your song (in the "\My Music" folders (i.e. Win7 library folders) and rename them like that
Fire WMP and look at the settings?

I have looked up media player's option and found this:
"Use media information to arrange files in folders on the disk" in "Options > Burn" tab and unchecked it.
Is that what you are talking about?

I think it is "Options > Library > Rename music files using rip music settings". Make sure that is unchecked.
I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.
