Goodness knows what you're asking for here. Int32.TryParse and Int32.Parse will try to get a number out of a string. I doubt that is what you mean.

Hello,
In my ASPX page, I want to show a image from SQL BLOB field. Now, I found the only solution is like this
Now, the handler should query the database and retrieve the binary image file data and show the image.
Ok, what If I want to read the binary image data as byte[] and convert to base64 string and pass the base64 string as query string to the handler, is it possible to implement like this ? In this way, my Handler wont need to query the SQL database, rather it would directly get the GET item from Query string and convert back the base64 string to byte[] and show the image.
I would appreciate if you can give me some better idea to do that. My intension is to provide my client a stand alone and database independant BLOB image viewing solution. Moreover, is it also possible to get rid of a handler and rather it would call a DLL file to show the BLOB image ?

Hi Stips,
Thanks for your reference. But my question is, "Is it possible to send a huge amount of string data (Base64) as a query string to ASHX file in image tag so that the ASHX file can directly parse the binary data from query string and not need to query the database to retrieve the image data ?
OR Is it somehow possible to POST any data to a calling image tag source URL like this ?
<img src="myHandler.ashx"... POST data to ashx file ...NOT GET by query string......

Hi,
I need to few controls to a panel during run-time, however in the panel a hnl table should be created and then the controls should be added accordingly to the panel.
I have added the controls dynamically to the panel but unable to create a table inside the panel during runtime
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Use Table Control to created table inside the Panel Dynamically.
Eg:
Dim Tbl As New Table<br />
Dim TR As New TableRow<br />
Dim TC As TableCell<br />
<br />
<br />
TC = New TableCell()<br />
TC.Text = "Some Text"<br />
<br />
TR.Cells.Add(TC)<br />
<br />
TC = New TableCell()<br />
TC.Controls.Add(New TextBox())<br />
<br />
TR.Cells.Add(TC)<br />
<br />
Tbl.Rows.Add(TR)<br />
<br />
.... And So on....
Finally Add the Table Control to the Panel. Thats it... Simple!!

Thanks!
I have done this way too!
But i heard something about add new literal control to a panel, initially had few problems with that because of wrong nmespace given.
Now, both ways it works!!

<asp:LoginName ID="LoginName1" runat="server" <br />
FormatString=" Logged in as {0}" />
the above code is for displaying the login name of the logged in user
is there one for the user logined role?

|
|
|
|
The method System.Web.Security.Roles.GetRolesForUser() returns a string[] with all the roles the current user belongs to. Use a Literal/Label, and set the Text property as you like.

When an application is running and the user exit the browser the current web page has gone but the application is still running. How can I exit the application when user exit the browser.
|
|
|
|
|
You don't. The idea is that the application will continue to run on the server waiting for the next request. The server has no concept of a browser being shut down. It just serves up pages.

my web page should appear here. So how can I convert my application from localhost to above URL.
Thanks,

Install the application on the relevant server, placed in the appropriate virtual directory with the appropriate settings in IIS. What that is depends on your situation.

Hi Guys,
...We're working with a hierarchical Infragistics UltraWebGrid and when one of the parent rows is selected, each of the children underneath it is to be selected as well. I have the code to perform this all hammered out, but now I have to deal with the issue of the fact that this is sometimes a long-running process. Infragistics provides their own wait-cursor for several of the grid's functions, but not for this. What I'm trying to do now is something to the effect of:
in the ASP code behind:
<br />
DisplayGrid.DisplayLayout.ClientSideEvents.AfterSelectChangeHandler = "SelectBranch('ctl00xContentPlaceHolder1xRemovedEquipmentxuwgDisplay');";<br />
in javascript
<br />
function SelectBranch(gridId)<br />
{<br />
document.body.style.cursor = 'wait';<br />
foo(gridId);
document.body.style.cursor = 'default';<br />
}<br />
What is happening is that it is executing 'foo' as it is supposed to, but never resets the cursor to the default cursor
Does anybody know how to get this logical flow to work? Or is this incorrect? What if foo recursively calls 'SelectBranch()'? Does that have any implications?
