I'm still stuck on this. I need to figure out how to host a SignlaR app.

There are plenty of examples of "self hosting" out there, but they're mostly console apps running on the development machine for the purpose of demonstrating SignalR.

I need to host this on a server, preferably in IIS.

Anyone got any experience or know of any help towards this?

Setup
Go to NuGet and install the SignalR package into a WebApplication:

Install-Package Microsoft.AspNet.SignalR

Server
Create a class that derives from PersistentConnection:

using System.Threading.Tasks;
using Microsoft.AspNet.SignalR;

public class MyConnection : PersistentConnection 
{
    protected override Task OnReceived(IRequest request, string connectionId, string data) 
    {
        // Broadcast data to all clients
        return Connection.Broadcast(data);
    }
}

Setup Routing
Make a route for your connection:

Global.asax

using System;
using System.Web.Routing;

public class Global : System.Web.HttpApplication 
{
    protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) 
    {
        RouteTable.Routes.MapConnection<MyConnection>("echo", "/echo");
    }
}

If you are setting up other routes, the SignalR mapping needs to be done before the other ones.

If you follow that, then you should end up with your SignalR code hosted in IIS. Was that not what you were asking?

Where in there does it discuss HOW to host it in IIS?

The part I quoted is the instructions for hosting in IIS. D'Oh! | :doh:

Create a web application project. Follow the instructions from that page. Deploy the application. Your code is now hosted. Smile | :)

I've been through all that before. I get no response from the server. Even trying to navigate to the url in IE returns a 404.

I have offers database and users save location map (latitude and longitude) for the offer.

I want to know, if I get the website visitors latitude and longitude then how can I find the nearby 10 offers?

Hi,

Why I am getting above error for below code?

It was working fine when I use the PHP class only but started giving this error when I am calling the class from another PHP page.

How to fix it please?

Hi,

I am using PHP and I am trying to validate IP address to check if valid IPv4, IPv6 or invalid.

but when I am connected to localhost I am getting IP address as ::1

it says:

::1 is a valid IPv6 address

How can I fix it please?

I am tring to get the ImageButtons and the Button to be right aligned while the rest is left aligned but to no avail. Everything is left aligned.

If someone can explain what I am doing wrong would very much appreciate it.

We have developed a SSO(an Identity Provider) with SAML 2.0. I just wanna know whether Sitefinity gives support for SAML protocols ?Can we have or build a SAML SP from sitefinity?

Suggestion on this will be very helpful for us.
