I do not think you can do this. Sites that do what you are describing do this on purpose. They don't want to be framed as part of another site/application. Am I wrong?

I have built a custom web control with C#. For some reason, when another control fires a postback (such as a drop down list with AutoPostBack set to true is changed), the event handler for my custom control gets fired as well as the event that is intended to get fired. Does anyone have an idea why this might be?

Hi,
I need to re-define the root of my html-page in the following sense:
When you write the picture will be taken from the websites root/pics/ folder. Now, I want to dynamically change this, say I have two different sets of images in
root/picsA and root/picsB - and I want to write something like
<image-root "="" picsa"="">
get it ? All pictures (etc.) must be loaded from another root than the default. I've looked at the <base..> tag, but it doesn't seem to be what I need. any other suggestions ?

What language are you wanting to accomplish this with? Regardless, you will have to process what you want on the server side. There are no HTML tags to accomplish what you want. It is a static markup language. Future browsers may have support for something like this using xml (xhtml maybe -- see http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/ for the complet xhtml spec), but browsers in their current iteration do not. I would suggest that you create some routine that keeps track of all your images and inserts a record for each one into a database. Then you can grab an image record and the image path and place those in your src tag.
If you need more specific help, tell me what language you're using.

I just hoped there would be something like the <base target="myOtherFrame" /> or whatever that could specify a common "root" for all source references (css, images, etc.) - but as I couldn't find it, I asked here. I'll trust you on the "There are no HTML tags to accomplish what you want" statement 
Acutually, I'm generating the HTML from a template file with tags I replace with content - all done form C#. In the meantime, I've discovered some other problems regarding the folder-structure / IIS setup I'm using, so I think I'll move to a different setup, where I won't need this "root-switch".
But thanks again - this is why I like CP so much. You usually get at least one answer on a query. A lot of other sites seem to contain primarily questions and no answers...

I am attempting to create a variable for every field in a record set. When attempting to run this code, I get simply a "Syntax Error". Does anyone know why this won't work?

Execute is a method associated with a Server, Connection, or Command object in ASP, not a standalone function. It looks like you're trying to append field values to field names, then treat them as functions. What are you really trying to accomplish?

I have a menu (html) that always stays the same. I want to include this menu on my other html pages, but don't want to use frames.
How is this done? I know there's a #include syntax in asp, but I want to use only html.

If using 'include virtual' it doesn't matter if the file is in the same directory or not - you always specify the absolute path from the web root. Meaning, if your domain name is acme.com, and you have a folder called 'includes', then the full URL to your includes would be www.acme.com/includes/...same with this. If your a.html is in a directory other than the web root, then you have to specify it (i.e., include virtual = "/includes/a.html" or whatever your path is).
If it's in the same directory you can simply use 'include file' and it will work in your particular example as well.

This is SSI (server-side include) syntax and must be supported by the web server. Either the web server must be configured to treat .html files as SSI files or the file must be renamed to the use the extension associated with SSI (usually .shtml).
Think of SSI as a "lightweight" scripting language that doesn't have the advanced features of languages like ASP/JSP/PHP.

Just another little oopsie... I had similar problems with Paradox, trying to convert a currency value to text often (not always) got the last digit wrong by one. It took me hours to figure out
text = asc(int(amount)) + "." + asc(int(amount*100)- (100 * int(amount)))
just to be able to print a check. Does it get the correct answer if you format it to display only the first two decimal places?

Hi!!
I am facing a problem while downloading file from a site. Infact the file with the code below is working fine on my local system but when i tries to download the file from remote server it generates an error and displays following text as a message box:
"Internet Explorer cannot download <file> from <servername>.
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet Site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found."
The file i am trying to download is a self extracting .exe file. The path of a file is perfect coz when i put a small size file on the same location with the same name, download starts without any error. ONe thing, using win2003 server.
Please reply me and help me ASAP its really very urgent.
