I believe the CP forums have a lot of javascript action going on.
A message board is pretty easy tho, you just store the messages in your database, and render them on the screen. I believe there are examples on the site, as well ( not of the actual CP forums, but other ones offered in articles ).
There is an ASP.NET forum, although 'I want an example of hwo to write my app' is not a great question to be asking, more specific questions tend to get better answers.

Hi,
I have an ASP page that draws up a report and display it to the user. If the user wishes to do so, he can click a "print" button which activates the printer dialog via javascript. This would be the same as if they selected "File > Print" from the browser menu.
My problem is that at hte top of the page, page numbers are added automatically, and at the bottom the URL of the page that was printed. Is there a way to get rid of this extra information, so that a "clean" document can be printed with only the results from the report.
Any help would be appreciated,

I'm accessing a page from a VB app using the XMLHTTP object, I was wondering if using cookies (storing and recieving) works like in internet explorer? Or to make cookies work with this object I need to set special options?

Hi Guys,
Could any one help me out with codes to add rows to a table. Well I kinda of got the codes from the following site (http://www.interviewboard.com/DHTMLSamples/DHTMLGridSample.htm) the problem is this example only shows input box. Now i have a list that means a 'select box' for which the value is retrieved from Database and populated into the select list box. Now according to the example if all residing in the javascript how am i gng to do that!. For example I have the default row which has 3 text box, a select box(populated from database and a delete button). Outside the table i have add row
When i click on add row another row should be created with 3 text box, a select box and a delete button. all these input box and select box whould have unique names cas i need to pass them to another page to get the values.
can anyone help please.

I have a few HTML labels for ASP.NET textboxes
But i want all the labels a set size so the textboxes to thier right all lign up.
Using asp.net text boxes with a set width works in IE7 but not FF.
I then switched to HTML labels with "width" set in CSS which does not seem to work.
This seems like it should be so simple but I cant seem to get anice consitant label width under FF and IE7

I usually use something like this:

Yes if you create more than one control in the page :->. But it's not possible to select more than one file per control!

There are many reasons why that doesn't work:
1. You never use any object named "frmnm". You try to access a property in the document object by that name.
2. The parameter that you have specified in the function is not named "frmnm" but "frmname".
3. Even if you did spell it right, you can not specify a property by just using a variable name in it's place.
If you want a reference to the form, why don't you just send the reference when calling the function instead of sending the name of the form?

As they have used a backward method of handling posted code in this message board, certain keywords can not be used. Replace the 0nlick keyword with the obvious existing event.

Hello,
I have a windows application that uses a sql server remote database.
Which is the best method to deploy an application that has to connect to a remote server on an another computer, that is part of the LAN Network.
I have been told that during installation the connection will be setup.
At the moment I am using the sqlclient connection. I have my connection string in the app.config. But when the customer installs that want to be able to browse to the server that they will have to connect to.
Well as I have never deployed, I will never know what is best.
Give you could give a short example, i would be most grateful.

i have an application that searches records from a database, sometimes the recors are too many and i want to brake them into individual pages showing a max of 10 records per page. i tried using paging recordset feature from dreamweaver but it does not work well, it repeats records.
Please help me with any code that i can impletemt, here is the connection and query:

What you really want is to write a stored proc that returns just the page you need.
The way you do this is a nested query. The internal query returns all the records up to the last one you wanted, the outer query returns the records you wanted, using top.

Hi!
Use the following statements to determine how many pages are there. ItemsCount is a variable so you can assign a value to it. It means the pages will show maximum recordNumber for per page. nPageCount tells you how many pages are there according to given ItemsCount.
ObjectRecord.PageSize = ItemsCount
nPageCount = ObjectRecord.PageCount
The other part is to add pages as numbered from 1...to x on bottom of pages. It is easy I beleive you can solve it.
