No-one is going to read all of this. What do you need help with ? Can you break this down into something that can be understood in less than an evening ?

Have you considered using a stored proc ?

Yes i haved Considerd using the Scored Procedure, but i thought first understand how does BLL send data to Dal so it can be executed..

The answer to that is self evident, the DAL either takes instances of entity classes that contain the data needed, or parameters that contain the data required. Just like any other function you'd write, in any program.

Hi

I've been trying to create a custom textbox control using Visual studio 2005(VB.Net) with the properties that a normal texbox have with additional appearance and functionality that looks like this |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|.

If I need to use it for title it will be something like this |_|_|_|_|

For an address |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
etc.

The has to be only one entry in each box and be able to set a colour for the lines and this lines must touch the textbox borders and not live spaces between like on this message.

I've been using the Web Costom control in the Web Control Library to do this and read GDI+, but something is just missing,

Can anyone please help me out with this I need it for my peoject.

You can't use graphics with a web control. A web control is rendered as html code, so that is what you are limited to.

Yes. You just override the Paint method. That will be called whenever the control is drawn, so you call the base implementation of the method to do the original drawing, then you can draw whatever you like on the control. The event arguments sent to the method contains a graphics object that you should use for doing the drawing.

Guffa is right, but the caveat is that the underlying text control in windows draws itself outside of the paint event often, so doing a custom text control, while possible, is a real PITA.

I have two forms in vb.net2003. first form is welcome screen & 2nd form is login form. I must hide the welcome screen. then the login form must be appear. my login form's back ground is in transparent. when load my login form,the welcome screenform is hide but that is appear behind the login form. when load my login form, the welcome screen form might not appear.
How can i solve this problem?

I can't follow this. The login form is covering the welcome form ? Don't show it until the welcome is closed, or make the welcome screen topmost.

don't know if this is what you want but you can put you'r welcome screen as splash screen
in the properties of you'r project
then the welcome screen will appear as first screen for a few seconds and after that the project will start

There's no such thing in VS.NET 2003. That stuff only showed up in 2005.

I need to build a web application with log-in controls (txtUsername, txtPassword, btnSubmit).
My problem is, if i click submit, it should automatically log me in to another site (a web mail) with pop-up authentication (just like the pop-up box when using basic authentication)

So basically, what i'm trying to do is i'm logging in to that page using my own page. The pop-up should not be shown anymore since i have my custom log-in controls.

Is it possible to get the control names/id of the pop-up box, pass the values from my page to these controls and execute click commands externally?

What if the web mail i'm trying to access doesn't have a pop-up authentication just like yahoo mail?
I found an article that this one is possible using the WebBrowser control but it seemed that this control is only available in windows applications.

Please help i'm new to .Net. I would appreciate it so much.

If you're talking about the credentials box put up by the browser, no. That pop up box is no part of the web page. There's no way for your ASP.NET (which runs solely on the web server!) code to put anything in the browsers login box on the client side.

True. The web browser control doesn't exist in ASP.NET apps, for obvious reasons.

Web Forms (ASP.NET) apps run their code entirely on the server, NOT on the client. Your ASP.NET code cannot establish a login session for another web site that doesn't run on your server.

I'm writing a .NET version of Panorama (it changes your backgrounds in win98 but has Issues on XP/Vista -- i dont maintain it... i just like it)
I have to handle It as a single instance application because i call the "ChangeDesktopBackground" command in user32.dll alot -- anywhere from 6 SECONDS to 4 HOURS... and i dont want a user going crazy because the desktop just changed 3935974958607367 times... it takes some doing too...

I was considering DDE, but its dead. OLE automation is near imposible without killing the filesize (its 200kb right now -- and only takes up 400kb in memory.)

I would like to have a command line param, say -a, that adds files to a listbox.

Heres how i have it set up:
FormMain
FormMain.Desks(ListView)
FormMain.AddSingle(Button)
FormMain.AddDirectory(button)
FormMain.RemoveItem(button)
formMain.clearAllItems(button)
FormMain.Timeout(spinCtl)
FormMain.TimoutTimer(Timer)
FormMain......

I want to be able to have it set up so that when the user calls something like
"PanoNet.exe -a C:\Epic Files\Some File.jpg" "C:\Mpre FIles\Some Other FIle.BMP" the new instance tells the old instance to add the two files to the top of the end of FormMain.Desks.Items

Can this be done?
