It can be due to a lot of different reasons. The best to find your problem is to use your debugger.

Need to check pointer values basically.
Use call stack to determine source of crash.

You could be writing to a invalid memory location. This is one of the reasons why an application crashes most of the time. it's hard to tell without having a look at the source code.
Somethings seem HARD to do, until we know how to do them.

Basic reason - developer error. Either the developer writing the application, or the developer writing the libraries used.

I want to implement a server to open
two(or more) sockets and to talk simultaneousley with two(more) clients on these sockets ? do you know any links with such. Please help me out.

CSocketComm[^]. This wrapper class provides the abilty to open more than one socket on the server side that multiple clients can connect to. Number of sockets is #define MAX_SOCKETS

We normally deploy debug builds alongside our release builds, for remote debugging if the user finds something wrong. However, with 2005 debug builds we get the error message:
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
From my research, it seems to suggest that the debug runtimes aren't being set up right (we've copied them into the system path), and/or manifests aren't present. Can anyone give me any better pointers?

Join the club. Microsoft's attempt to fix DLL by using SxS seems to have only compounded problems for developers.

hi, I am beginner in direct show
and I would like to write simple capture and saving file aplication.
As a sample i use "Video Capture Example Code" from MSDN
It works fine but I get stuck to figure out how to change video size.
Can someone help me how to set width and high of recording video?
I am also looking for SDK sample AmCap
MSDN says (SDK root)\Samples\Multimedia\DirectShow\Capture\AMCap
but is not there.
Does anyone know link to download this sample

Are you using DirectX8 or DirectX9? If you are using DirectX9 the samples for DirectShow are now in the platform SDK. I don't remember for sure, but you may also have to download DirectX8 SDK Extras from MSDN to get all of the DirectShow samples.

If all you need to do is update the modification time, look into finding a Windows version of the touch utility. Should be rather easy to find, and really easy to write - look up the SetFileTime(...) function.
