That may be true, but until someone actually solves the problem of input on a mobile device, I'll stick to a desktop for word processing.

Well, most things. A mobile is a useful supplementary device. PC's are selling slower because the market is saturated.

It has opened the door to book reading and literature to a lot of kids.
One thing I might agree with you, is that they could have merge the Harry Potter series as one entry instead of many in the list.

While commendable it itself, that does not make it something an adult should feel compelled to "read before you die". Great children's books, though personally I still prefer the Dark Materials trilogy.

There were a number of other children's books on the list (Goodnight, Moon for one example), so I don't think they mean the entire list for adult reading. Just, "to read sometime before you die."
However, the plot twists and characterization in "Goodnight, Moon"? Riveting.

One of the few ways to make it even easier is to have a button on the items that, when pushed, logs a request about the related item to the maintenance system. That also has the bonus of not having to have a smartphone with you.

Not really. It's what the manufacturer/carrier has supplied. Many would *love*, *love*, *love* to go to kitkat. But it's not like they can go to Walmart or Bestbuy and purchase it. They're (we're) all at the mercy of the carriers.
