Just arrived back offshore to a corporate world of IE8.
Yesterday afternoon I remembered about Portable Chrome and downloaded and installed it onto a memory stick at home.
Just plugged the memory stick into the machine at work, loaded it up and bingo Chrome running off a memory stick at work, no installation or anything! Signed into Chrome, and boom all by bookmarks etc all arrived. Had my doubts it would work in our locked down environment, but
My two weeks offshore have just got a whole lot better.

Your links not working, but what about stuxnet clones?
It is only locked down in terms of I cannot install apps and certain websites/and content are still blocked at the gateway.
I don't think using PC opens up any issues vs IE, it just means the sites I normally use look and feel a damn site better than they do on IE!
Have noticed a couple of crashes though, so it maybe isn't as stable, possibly due to running off a slower memory stick...might have to copy folder to PC to see if that makes a difference.

Works from here though ...

The story has it that plugging a USB memory stick into a computer on the target network was how stuxnet made it's way into the target environment ...

Yeh, there is always that risk, we got a virus on our control system network from someone transfering a build using their iPod as the transfer medium.
