Same here, in major parts of India.
Our food is taken care of, in terms of grocery stores being open. My concern is about our kitten's food supplies. These are only available in veterinary clinics; not sure whether they will be kept open.

How about boiled fish? Surely there must be something other than cat food he likes?

We are vegetarians, so no fish, meat at home in our cooking.
The only thing I get for our kitten is Catfood (salmon) from the Vet shop. I still have stocks for about 5/6 days, so we will figure out something by then.

Try calling your vet.
I think my vet is closed, but you can still get your cat's necessities on appointment.
They wouldn't let an animal die because of some lockdown, it's just the procedures that changed

Just got to know that catfood is available at the nearby medical shop. So, no issues - only that a different brand of catfood, different flavour.

Uh oh.
Good luck with that ... cats can be horribly fussy little monsters (and their tummies don't take well to a sudden change of brand: Changing your cat's food - PDSA[^] - ours tends to vomit copiously if we switch him too fast).

Good to know. Then I have to start gradually phasing in the new food from now itself.
Thanks for telling.

It is all this fuss which makes cats so mysterious.
And adorable too!

The fine here is up to 5000 NIS - which can be very meaningful...
The real problem for those keep themselves to the rules is how to balance between the kids... Every day one of them goes insane...

In other countries, the fines are in real money.

Up to €400 here in the Netherlands, about a seventh of the average monthly income.
It's sad it has come to this.
If everyone stayed at home we'd have corona under control in a few weeks and we could resume our lives as usual.
Unfortunately, most people are trash
I've always said, just throw a big bomb on China, we don't need them.
And then bomb the rest of Asia, way too crowded over there!
From there you're close to the Middle East, so bomb them too, nothing but trouble there anyway.
And then just continue bombing Africa and eradicate hunger, extreme poverty and a few diseases.
Of course America is next on the bombing list because they're all hootin' tootin' dumb ass rednecks.
Then South America for its corruption and drugs.
We're then left with Europe, which is fine... Except of course Eastern Europe, so drop those bombs.
Also Southern Europe.
I probably don't have to explain why the UK needs to go too.
I'm not fond of the French either.
I'd bomb The Netherlands, but I live there
Then bomb everything I haven't mentioned because people are ass hats there too.
Everything in Australia is already trying to kill them so no bombs necessary.
I'm (sort of) kidding of course, I wouldn't want bombs to be thrown, but you get my drift
But it would sure solve a lot of problems (including panic buying and getting together while we shouldn't).

Killing everyone to prevent a pandemic may be an effective solution, but does have a self-defeating element to it.

Or you could just organize an itinerant huge macro festival and invite all people after a week home "arrest". Then see how corona accomplishes the same without having to throw bombs and destroy all the landscape.
Same result, less destruction.

I haven't seen that, but did see this a few minutes ago on the BBC website:
If they do not accept the advice, they would then be given a fine. However, fines won't be issued until Parliament passes the emergency legislation - which should be by the end of Thursday.
The Home Office could not say, at this stage, how big the fines are likely to be.
