Does anyone ever think about the diversity of their music collection? Just now, for instance, I listened to "Julia[^]" by John Lennon, "Bulls on Parade[^]" by Rage Against The Machine, "Save A Prayer[^]" by Duran Duran, and then "Murderers[^]" by John Frusciante.
Links have been included in case you don't know any of the songs I mentioned. I expect that no one has ever heard the last one.
The United States invariably does the right thing, after having exhausted every other alternative. -Winston Churchill
America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between. -Oscar Wilde
Wow, even the French showed a little more spine than that before they got their sh*t pushed in.[^] -Colin Mullikin

It's funny that I have come to the conclusion that the music I listen to is deemed as sh*tty by most people. I appreciate good music, but listen to a lot of crap, too.

Rush and Zeppelin are bands that I honestly don't fully appreciate without... enhancers.

I think that's true of most people's music. Everyone thinks everyone else's music is sh***y.
Or in my case, when I mention most of the stuff I listen to, I just get blank stares. (Makes me feel like a hipster )

Let's see...most of my collection is hard rock and metal, but I also have a few odder entries like polka and J-Pop.
I also like to think of the diversity in terms of the number of languages I have songs in, off the top of my head: English (obviously), Japanese, Finnish, Russian, Romanian, and Latin.

Pretty sure I have English, Spanish, German, Romanian, Latin, and Ozzy...

It was sad when they dropped Polka from the Grammy's. That was always Brave Combo's best chance.

A few years back I purchased Nirvana , Pink Floyd, Reba Macintyre, Beatles, 38 Special and Classical Music sampler in one purchase. The clerk asked if they were gifts, I told him no, for me. He shook his head and told me that was the strangest combination of CD’s he’d ever told.
I think people who limit their choices to single genre are missing out on a world of good music. Luckily most of the people I know do have varied tastes in music. A good tune is just hard to resist no matter what genre.

Still do, I can purchase CDs anywhere from 0.50 to 3.00 USD. (New one's are more, but if I wait they'll get there) I can put the songs on any device that will accept mp3's. And I can play them in my car.
