Something I always try to get through to telephone bill paying 'personnel'. If someone wants to pay my bill, don't worry about their ID - just take their money.
I mean really!

My car and home insurance bill works like that. You only need to know the account number to pay it. Partial or full payment. Hmmmm I suppose there is a problem there.

why me? the all 12 IT people are there everyday.. and my every day talk time is about 10 seconds... my attention time is about 2 minutes...
I took it as an opportunity to be paid while day dreaming about space RPG....
Mmm... you probably means.... "they" as in "the management" and "you" as in "the developers"...
I don't quite see this has to do with trust anyway...
It feels more like they have their own ticket system which, and we have our own ticket system... and one seem blind to the other...

You've got horrid management. This was something I could never abide, self-important sphincters who want a room full of people just sitting there, each one waiting for their 3 minutes of bean counting.

I got over it, being paid a ginormous amount of money as a contractor! (and also, day dreaming!)
I just wonder how management can justify to themselves this waste of productivity?!

Agreed, but it's probably a reaction to this strange situation.
Developers can work from home without problems.
Managers can work from home for a few days, doing paperwork or whatnot, but ultimately their job is to manage people.
And those people aren't at home.
So in order to feel less useless they do this kind of crap.
Maybe to them it's better to do something, anything, than nothing.
Or it makes them feel in control or needed.
There are better ways to handle the situation, but at least they're not buying 100 rolls of toilet paper

This puts me in mind of Wendy Carlos "Switched on Bach", in particular the Brandenburg Concerto #3, but my Google-fu has failed to find a link to it. Never mind, there's always the Tocatta and Fuge in D Minor, though I'm not sure if that's good to help keep away the madness, or in sympathy for those already there. Then of course there's Banjos!. If neither of those help, maybe this will put you in the mood

Dear Communinty
Maybe you have an idea, why Skype does not handle my camera.
Situation
- Laptop: HP Elite Book 8770w
- OS: W10 upgradet from W7 before half a year or more (no major nor minor problems with that)
- W10 On Board Camera App does work.
- Skype is added/enabled in Settings->Privacy
... but when testing the camera in Skype it always shows me a black pictrure.
Do you have any idea where I'm wrong?
Note 1: I don't think it is an 'ugly face detection' by skype, it does also not work in case I put a neutral grey paper in front of the camera
Note 2: I'm not willing to reinstall skype because I don't remember my skype credentials
Thanks for hints in advance.
It does not solve my Problem, but it answers my question

You could try typing "camera" into the Win10 search; for me, first option is "choose which apps can access your camera" giving application-level access. Secondly if you've accessed the camera via the Camera app, maybe it's not relinquished it properly? Use TaskManager to make sure it's fully closed; if it is and still doesn't work, you could try a reboot I guess...
Is the camera red light coming on when you access it from Skype?
Lastly, do you have other cameras defined on the system? Maybe it's trying t talk to one that doesn't exist. In Skype, go to Settings, then Audio&Video; in my version of Skype there's a dropdown at top-right of the dialog to switch between cameras. That dialog also shows a preview from the cam.
See Webcam doesn't work[^]
Finally, try a USB plug-in webcam if you can get hold of one.
Good luck!
