Why not? This is more interesting than most stuff in the Lounge.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Also, be sure to google "gun used to kill gorilla" (without quotes) before google does something about it.

There was this article[^] on my twitter feed!
"In five years, at least 50 percent of all searches are going to be either images or speech"
To be fair predict the future is difficult and (as we like to say in French) criticizing is easy, doing is difficult.
At any rate I predict bullshit! I predict text search will remain prevalent!
Why is that?
Well.. I spend more of time at work than at home, and when a work google search brings me back a picture / speech / video, it annoys the heck out of me. I despise all those programming tutorial video as well... I rather like a text blog I could skim for the salient in information instead of going through 40 minutes of pointless video...
In other news, even in this internet age, the written word remains alive and kicking, despite all who thinks we will "supersede it".

Speech is really just another form of text search, which just leaves images.
So all this says is in future speech recognition is going to used more...
Big deal

Writing, typing, hey same thing no?
I am not too interested in calligraphy... plus it certainly improved the readability of many a thing!

I just sat there and tried to remember when the last time I actually wrote more than a note, and then only memory of that is writing essays back in school more than half a century ago.

[Anything else that requires a personal touch?]
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

I predict thought search!
We think about something, my future multi-gazillion dollar company picks up your thoughts (we're constantly reading them anyway) and inject the image with the answer straight into your brain
Hey, I know what you're thinking! No need to be so rude about it
