exactly my (and some friends' too) thoughts

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Outside of his political and religious views and his financial status, I like Elon. I think he is major technological influence for mankind.
Like him or hate him, he is fighting the good fight, IMHO.

Agreed.
In a world increasingly full of truly horrible politicians, gawd awful "news" media and woke celebritards Elon is a breath of fresh air.

Be careful, he might decide to run for President. Remember that guy called Trump?

Not because I felt he would be / was a great president. While I didn't much care for his personality and arrogance I did prefer many of his actual policies. Definitely better than the drivel coming from the feckless moron in the oval office now.

His views on almost everything seem inconsistent, to put it mildly. His financial status doesn't bother me, but how he obtained much of it does. He's often highly entertaining[^], though!

yeah super entertaining, this guy. we def need to keep giving this guy a bigger tax break than the rest of us.

From Wikipedia (YMMV)
Quote: However, Time magazine points out that controversial figures such as Adolf Hitler (1938), Joseph Stalin (1939 and 1942), Nikita Khrushchev (1957) and Ayatollah Khomeini (1979) have also been granted the title for their impact on events.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

People magazine really showed up Time this year by putting Dolly Parton (our national treasure) on the cover.
Elon Musk is basically just "some rich jerk" by comparison.

I personally don't like her singing (I don't like country music in general), but I have to admit that she's a better choice for a magazine cover than Elon Musk.

I'm not a fan of her music, but I'm totally a Dolly Parton fan.

So this explains why Biden has refused to acknowledge that Musk is the undisputed leader in electric cars. (Statement based on vehicle sales in the US and worldwide.)

I normally take the plunge with a clean, usually new, computer.
Upgrades usually leaves me less than impressed.

I think the upgrade is free. I'm not ready to pay for a new OS when I have a perfectly good one.

They are.
I'm thinking about all problems that you might or might not get with updated programs and settings and such.
From experience, I prefer a clean slate for new major versions.

I do too. I just don't want to spend the money on Win11. It's not even that I can't afford it. It's the principle. I bought Win10 (again) back in january when i bought my machine. At this point it just seems like throwing good money after bad if I make that purchase.

I always get the license with my hardware.
So I guess you're using a VM.
In that case you could probably make a copy of the VM that you can upgrade, then create a new VM and move that license to it.
Would have to check the license agreement to make sure though.

No, I got it with my hardware. I consider that buying it, particularly since I had the option of No operating system, or linux or windows pro (each for different $$$ - well linux was free) when I purchased the system.
