basic algebra, reduce unknowns by replacing with equivalents:
first simplify the question to it's most basic mathematical form:
how_long = short
then reduce:
short = short
now all you need to do next is solve for short, and put that back into the original equation
...so simple will leave that part for y'all to do yerselves.

To begin with, for the first time ever, I made it to the bottom of the Last 24hrs "Top Experts List" - barely behind OG, himself (the barely part probably won't last).
But it doesn't end, there. By ca. 16:00 GMT (which is still mid-morning where I'm going) I'll be enjoying Island beverages on a tropical Isle without a care in the world (and open bars) until next Sunday* Indeed - I won't carry money for the duration. Even tipping is forbidden - currency is a smile.
And if that weren't enough, the hot peppers (of various mysterious sorts) are flowering and forming fruit to greet me upon my return.
* Actually, I'll need to remember to meet appointments for eating at included restaurants, going snorkeling, boozy catamaran cruises, and creating chaos and laughter amongst the staff.

Top Experts List, or tropical Isle. I'd rather be on the Top Experts List, sure sucks to be you!

Yeah. That's why they have open bars all over the place. Even in the middle of the pool. So we can console our spirits with strong spirits.*
* Even the fortis spirituum must often dwell amongst crushed ice and tropical fruit.

Well - maybe - but I don't know if a Welshman would care to be in Jamaica.
Sheep are rather rare. Actually, they do have a lot of goats.

Separating the sheep from the goats?
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Where is this magical place? I googled "Isle of SmileCoin" but only came up with The West Briton: being a collection of poems, on various subjects...
He bow'd, -- she see'd him with a smile Coin'd in the mint of Cypria's isle.

You need to reach at least 11000 m/sec to reach the moon and a little more if you want to go anywhere in the solar system. Was that really so new to you? That's one of the greatest technical problems, because rockets must burn insane amounts of fuel in a very short time to reach at least the minimum velocity.

Sure I did, I just like it when a random news report makes me remember. I also wasn't aware that there was something atmospheric faster than the X-15, it's been a while since I was totally clued up about this stuff.

For example, I also never saw this[^] before, if we are already looking at the X-15.

"in space without gravity it gets a little easier to go faster"
Who writes, and edits, this crap? Gravity? It is wind resistance that is the problem in the atmosphere. Earths gravity extends well out into space!
